Incheon Conducts Park Safety Inspections Ahead of Spring Season


In preparation for the thawing season and upcoming peak tourism period, Incheon City has announced a comprehensive safety inspection of its parks and green spaces.

The inspection will run from February 24 to March 21, with teams from district park management offices conducting thorough checks.

Key inspection areas include:

Landslide-prone zones and steep slopes vulnerable to thaw-related weakening, Structural integrity of park facilities, including subsidence and cracks, Clearing fallen leaves from drainage systems, Trimming and removing damaged trees to maintain green spaces.

By ensuring safety and cleanliness, the city aims to provide residents and visitors with a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience.






Mijuhol Library to Be Renamed ‘Incheon Library’


Incheon City’s Mijuhol Library is seeking public input on a proposed name change to Incheon Library from February 26 to March 11.

As the city’s first public library, originally established in 1922 as the City Library in Jung-gu, the facility has served as Incheon’s representative library for over a century. In 2008, it was designated as Incheon’s main public library by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and it moved to Namdong-gu in 2009. Since then, it has operated under the name Mijuhol Library, referencing Incheon’s historic name, Mijuhol.

The renaming aims to reinforce the library’s identity as Incheon’s primary public library and enhance its role in citywide cultural promotion.






Ensure a Healthy Start to School: Get Vaccinated!


Incheon City is implementing a mandatory vaccination verification program for students entering elementary and middle school in 2025.

In collaboration with local health centers and schools, the initiative will ensure that all incoming students have completed their required immunizations. Parents of unvaccinated children will be encouraged to complete the necessary vaccinations to strengthen herd immunity and prevent infectious diseases.

Children who have not yet received the required vaccines can get them free of charge at designated medical facilities or public health centers.
