"Open Port Experience Day" to Be Held from April to May
The Incheon Metropolitan Government will host the citizen participation program "Open Port Experience Day Part 1: Feel the Spring" from April to May.
The event will feature a "Recommended Course Stamp Tour" and a "Open Port Museum Tour & Sandwich-Making Experience," offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy both history and culture.
An Incheon city official expressed hopes that the event will allow participants to vividly experience the history and culture of the open port area.
Incheon to Provide Up to 7 Million Won for Cochlear Implant Surgery for the Hearing-Impaired
The Incheon Metropolitan Government has announced that it will support 19 selected recipients through its Cochlear Implant Surgery and Rehabilitation Support Program for the hearing-impaired.
Cochlear implant surgery is a procedure designed for individuals with severe hearing loss who cannot hear even with hearing aids. It involves inserting a thin electrode into the cochlea to convert sound signals into electrical signals, allowing the recipient to perceive sound.
Applications will be accepted through district offices until March 27, and selected individuals will receive up to 7 million won for surgery costs. Additionally, rehabilitation therapy support will be provided for up to three years.
Incheon to Launch Awareness and Screening Campaign for Tuberculosis Prevention Day
The Incheon Metropolitan Government will conduct a Tuberculosis Prevention Week campaign from March 23 to 29 in observance of the 15th Tuberculosis Prevention Day.
The campaign, carried out by district health centers, aims to raise public awareness about tuberculosis prevention and emphasize the importance of regular check-ups.
With the proportion of tuberculosis cases among individuals aged 65 and older steadily increasing, regular screenings for the elderly have become more critical. In response, public health centers provide free annual tuberculosis screenings for seniors aged 65 and above.
Incheon to Offer Family Woodworking Special Program
The Incheon Metropolitan Government's Incheon Grand Park Office is launching a hands-on woodworking program, "Making Furniture for Our Home with Incheon Grand Park," where families can craft wooden furniture for everyday use.
The Incheon Grand Park Wood Culture Experience Center serves as an educational and experiential facility that enhances understanding of wood and promotes the use of environmentally friendly materials.
The program, running from April 12 to June 14, will take place every Saturday and is designed for intermediate and advanced participants. Over ten weeks, participants will choose a furniture piece to build, progressing through design, cutting, processing, and finishing stages.
