Incheon Metropolitan City Aims to Create 163,000 Jobs and Achieve Over 70% Employment Rate This Year


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced plans to create 163,000 new jobs this year, focusing on future high-tech and high-value-added industries.

At the first Employment Deliberation Meeting of the year, presided over by Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok on the 19th, the city reviewed and approved the detailed annual job creation plan and governance framework.

The city has outlined five key strategies, including "high-value-added future jobs," "Incheon-specialized jobs," and "youth employment." 

It aims to maintain an employment rate of over 70% this year and next while actively working to improve the youth employment rate (15-29 years old), which stood at 47.4% last year, and the female employment rate (15-64 years old), which was recorded at 62.4%.






Incheon Universities Continue Offering "1,000-Won Breakfast" for Students


Universities in Incheon are continuing their "1,000-Won Breakfast" program to support students.

Gyeongin National University of Education has announced that it will run the program, with students paying only 1,000 won while the university covers the remaining cost.

This year, the program will support 100 students at the Incheon campus and 200 at the Gyeonggi campus, running on class days until December.

Funding for the initiative has been secured through cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as well as local governments, including Incheon Metropolitan City, Gyeonggi Province, and Gyeyang District.






Incheon Metropolitan City to Conduct "Food Poisoning Prevention Consulting"


Incheon Metropolitan City is launching a "Food Poisoning Prevention Consulting" initiative.

Running until October, the program will cover 482 restaurants and group catering facilities at high risk of food poisoning outbreaks. Public officials and consumer food hygiene inspectors will conduct on-site visits to assess the hygiene conditions of food ingredients, storage, cooking, and distribution processes.

Businesses with inadequate hygiene standards will be required to make immediate corrections, and those needing further improvements will receive additional inspections and continued support.





Incheon Metropolitan City to Host Strawberry Exhibition


The Incheon Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center will hold a strawberry-themed exhibition, "Invitation to Strawberries," from March 28 to April 11 at its Agricultural Promotion Hall.

The exhibition will feature various strawberry varieties cultivated in Incheon and highlight local farm experience programs and educational activities. Visitors can learn about the history of Korean strawberry cultivation, technological advancements, and interesting facts about strawberries.

The exhibition is open to the public without reservation on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. However, participation in hands-on activities requires prior online registration.
