Incheon City Maintains Nationwide First Place in Birth Rate Increase
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the number of births from January to April 2025 increased compared to the same period last year, maintaining the nationwide first place in birth rate increase following March.
According to population trends released by Statistics Korea in June, the total number of births in Incheon City from January to April this year was recorded at 5,590.
Incheon City has consistently maintained double-digit growth rates every month from October last year to April this year, after recording the first place in birth rate increase in June last year. This is evaluated as a visible achievement of the proactive low birth rate response policies that Incheon City has been pursuing.
Incheon City Seeks Honorees for '47th Incheon Metropolitan City Citizen Award'
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will publicly recruit candidates for the "47th Incheon Metropolitan City Citizen Award" until August 18th to recognize citizens who have devotedly contributed to community development and enhancing the city's honor.
The "Incheon Metropolitan City Citizen Award," which began in 1979 and marks its 47th year this year, is Incheon City's most prestigious award with a proud history and tradition. Its purpose is to find merit recipients who have silently fulfilled their duties and contributed to community development across all sectors of society, and to widely promote their noble spirit.
Candidates must be citizens who have continuously resided within Incheon City for at least 5 years as of October 15, 2025, and have outstanding achievements in their respective fields. Applications can be submitted through recommendations from authorized recommenders.
Incheon City Hosts Subscriber Event Commemorating 10th Anniversary of Chinese Newsletter 'Incheon Zhichuang (仁川之窗)'
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host a subscriber event commemorating the 10th anniversary of its Chinese newsletter "Incheon Zhichuang" to coincide with the publication of the 2025 summer issue.
Incheon Zhichuang, first published in 2015 as the first Chinese newsletter among local governments nationwide, is published quarterly with 2,000 copies, and has consistently introduced Incheon City's China policies and various China-related content.
For the event, participants can submit photos and brief stories on the theme "Aspects of China Encountered in Daily Life" via email (iwindow@korea.kr), and coffee coupons will be provided to selected participants through quarterly drawings.
Incheon City Hosts '2025 Incheon Craft Creator Contest'
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host the "2025 Incheon Craft Creator Contest" from July to September, where young people can creatively design and implement Incheon's urban spaces.
This contest, marking its 5th year since first starting in 2020, has seen a total of 2,342 students participate over four editions and continues to generate high interest each year.
The theme of this year's contest is "The Incheon I Imagine, the Cultural Playground I Create!" Participants will directly design their ideal vision of Incheon's cultural spaces in a digital environment.
Michuhol-gu, Incheon Holds Meetings with Elementary, Middle, and High School Parents
Michuhol-gu, Incheon held meetings with parents from elementary, middle, and high schools a total of four times from the 16th to 27th at the Career Education Support Center.
About 80 parent representatives from 50 schools across the district attended to share the results of addressing major suggestions from last year.
The district has been implementing various student support programs as part of the Educational Innovation District project since 2022, including public-private-academic governance operations, community-linked educational activity support, youth community participation clubs, and book village projects. Through these meetings, the district plans to listen to parents' voices about the educational field and reflect them in policy.
