Korea Coast Guard Hosts 2nd International Conference on Maritime Drug Crime Investigation
The Korea Coast Guard announced on July 2nd that it hosted the 2nd International Conference on Maritime Drug Crime Investigation at its headquarters in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon.
Held under the theme “Cooperative Strategies to Tackle Evolving Maritime Drug Crimes,” the conference runs through July 4 and features participation from 10 countries—including the United States, Colombia, and Ecuador—as well as the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL)
Recently, a series of drug smuggling attempt through major ports in South Korea have been uncovered, with maritime drug trafficking emerging as a growing threat to national security and public safety.
To address this issue, the Korea Coast Guard plans to strengthen its international cooperation framework to block the maritime drug supply chain.
G-Tower Observatory in Songdo Reopens July 8 Following Renovation
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) announced that it will resume operations of the IFEZ Promotion Center, located within the G-Tower in Songdo International City, starting July 8.
The authority began renovations on the Promotion Center in March, upgrading outdated facilities and modernizing exhibition content.
IFEZ also plans to actively utilize the center in line with the upcoming 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) international meetings, which will be held across various venues in Incheon starting this month.
Incheon City to Host Incheon Songrim Networking Roundtable on Youth Family Business Succession for Small Business Owners
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host the 2025 Incheon Songrim Networking RoundTable on Youth Family Business Succession for Small Business Owners on July 8 at the Incheon Songrim Small Manufacturer Support Center.
The event aims to promote the sustainable growth of local small manufacturers and encourage the younger generation to carry on family-run businesses.
A total of 11 participants are expected to attend, including Incheon City officials, the chairperson of the Incheon Small Business Association, and young successors currently engaged in continuing their family businesses.
Participants will discuss the challenges facing small business owners in Incheon and explore practical support strategies to promote youth-led business succession.
Incheon City to Launch 2025 Summer Craft Workshop Series
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host the 2025 Summer Craft Workshop Series from July 29 to August 29 at 1883 Gaehang Salon, in collaboration with artisan studios in the Gaehangjang district, to promote citizen engagement in creative experiences.
The program features four hands-on workshops designed to let participants enjoy the pleasures of crafting in everyday life: mini cakes, mini rattan bags, bead bracelets and necklaces, and dried pollack wind chimes.
A total of 20 sessions will be held over five weeks, with each session accommodating up to 16 participants—for a total of 320 spots available.

Incheon City Launches ‘2025 Peace Tourism Experiential Content Contest’
Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Tourism Organization announced that they will host the 2025 Incheon Peace Tourism Experiential Content Contest from July 2 to 20, aiming to raise awareness of Incheon’s key peace tourism destinations and generate new tourism demand.
The contest seeks to discover citizen-participatory experiential content based on major sites that symbolize Incheon's peace and history—such as the Ganghwa Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the Incheon Landing Operation site, and the Five West Sea Islands.
Selected teams will receive up to 20 million won in project funding, along with promotional and marketing support through the official channels of Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization.
Incheon City Launches “Generative AX Practical Training” for Village Enterprises
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it is launching the Generative AX Practical Training program to enhance the digital capabilities of village enterprises.
As generative AI technologies rapidly expand across various industries, the ability to apply them in real-world business settings—referred to as AX or AI Transformation—is emerging as a key competitive advantage for local enterprises.
Through this training, the city aims to support the digital transformation of village enterprises and strengthen their practical skills in utilizing AI-based tools.
