Incheon to Launch Metropolitan Visa Pilot Program
Incheon has been selected for the Ministry of Justice’s “Metropolitan Visa Pilot Program,” aimed at attracting global talent.
The program allows local governments to design visa criteria based on regional characteristics and recommend candidates, while the Ministry reviews and issues the visas.
Incheon plans to use the program over the next two years to improve the D-2 visa system for international students enrolled at foreign universities located within the Incheon Global Campus in Songdo.
Incheon Hosts Major Global Korean Business Events
As part of the “2025–2026 Years of Visiting Incheon for Overseas Koreans,” the city will host two large-scale events.The 29th World Korean Business Convention will be held this October in Songdo, expecting over 1,700 participants, including overseas Korean businesspeople and domestic SMEs.Next April, the 24th World Korean Business Forum, hosted by the Overseas Koreans Agency, will also take place in Songdo.
Incheon Begins Women’s Safe Dream Mentoring Program
Incheon has launched the 2025 “Women’s Safe Dream Mentoring Program,” pairing victims of violence and their families with trained counselors for emotional recovery.Running from June through November, the program offers at least five monthly in-person or online sessions and holds two special “Mentor-Mentee Days” annually.

Michuhol-gu Facility Management Corporation is trialing a “Co-Prosperity Advertisement Zone” on its homepage to support local small businesses. Suspected Food Poisoning Sickens 35 High School Students in Incheon
Incheon has launched an epidemiological investigation after 35 students at a local high school reported suspected food poisoning symptoms, including diarrhea and abdominal pain, on July 2.The city collected samples from 36 individuals, including the affected students, and food preservation samples from meals served between June 26 and July 1 to determine the cause of the outbreak.
Firefighters Donate 36 Million Won to Fire Victim through '119 Miracle' Project
A senior citizen who lost their home in a fire has been provided a new residence thanks to a donation campaign led by Incheon firefighters and local residents.
The campaign, known as the “119 Miracle,” has been running since 2019, collecting small daily donations of 119 won from both firefighters and members of the public.
The '119 Miracle’ campaign has raised over 1.35 billion won, helping 122 families so far.
Incheon Office of Education Offers Customized Online Career Lectures in July
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education will hold “July Career Special Lectures” online from July 8 to 18 for middle and high school students and parents.
Through the Incheon Cyber Career Education Center’s video platform, the lectures will offer guidance on science high school admissions and math study strategies.
Participants must register in advance. Each lecture will be offered in two time slots—7:00 to 7:50 p.m. and 8:00 to 8:50 p.m.—to allow flexible attendance.
