IFEZ Promotion Center to Reopen on July 8 After Renovation
IFEZ announced that the IFEZ Promotion Center, located in G-Tower in Songdo International City, will reopen on July 8 after completing a remodeling project.
The renovation work, which began in April and lasted about three months, was carried out to upgrade the center’s outdated facilities and exhibits, which have been in use for 10 years.
The newly renovated center presents the past, present, and future vision of IFEZ using diverse media such as digital content, photographs, exhibition panels, and dioramas.
Incheon to Host Marine Waste Gear Collection Contest from July 7 to 16
Incheon Metropolitan City will carry out coastal cleanup activities from July 7 to 16, targeting abandoned fishing gear near ports in Ganghwa-gun and Ongjin-gun.
The items to be collected include discarded fishing nets and traps left around the harbors and on the shorelines.
In the previous year, three locations participated in the contest and collected a total of 142.19 tons of marine debris.
Incheon to Operate Citizen Academy on Urban Regeneration Projects
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will operate the “2025 Incheon Urban Regeneration Citizen Academy” from August 11 to September 19.
The academy aims to help residents better understand urban regeneration projects, prevent conflicts during the project process, and enhance the capabilities of local housing associations for smoother implementation.
Applications are open until July 31 and can be submitted via QR code or an online application form, also available in the announcements section of the Incheon City Hall website.
Incheon Strengthens Chicken Safety Inspections Ahead of Sambok Season
The Incheon Institute of Health and Environment will strengthen safety inspections of chicken meat during the upcoming sambok season, when demand typically peaks.
As about 33% of the yearly poultry supply is processed during this period, the city will extend inspection hours from July 7, about one week before Chobok, until August 9, which is Malbok.
Inspections will run from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, including Saturdays. Additional inspectors will be deployed to ensure thorough hygiene and quality control throughout the period.
Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation to Host Family Education Program
Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation announced on July 7 that it will host a special educational program for elementary school students and their parents in Incheon, titled “Waste Traveler Club: Meeting the Circulation of Resources,” on August 18.
Participants will experience the entire process from waste separation to resource recovery, while also visiting the landfill site, which has been transformed into an eco-friendly recreational space.
Applications are open from July 7 to August 4 and are limited to 40 participants (about 10 families), accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through Naver Form. Only families with elementary school students residing in Incheon are eligible.
Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education to Lead Expansion of Special Education Classes
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that a partial amendment to the “Ordinance on Installation and Support of Special Classes” will go into effect on July 14.
The amendment mandates the installation of special classes when establishing new schools and requires schools to consider setting up such classes during building expansions or space restructuring.
If the number of students requiring special education increases during the academic year, the matter must be reviewed by the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education’s Special Education Operation Committee.
If the committee deems a special class necessary, the decision will be communicated to the relevant school.
Incheon Lifelong Learning Center Holds Auditions for High School Concert
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education’s Lifelong Learning Center will hold auditions from July 7 to 27 for student bands and dance teams to participate in the “2nd Incheon High School WARAK (樂) Concert.”
Ten bands and ten dance teams will be selected, and the final concert will take place on August 9 at Incheon Arts High School.

Namdong Cultural Foundation and Namdong-gu Childcare Center Offer Pottery Classes for Children
The Namdong Cultural Foundation in Incheon’s Namdong-gu, in cooperation with the Namdong-gu Childcare Support Center, is running a tactile pottery education program for children aged 5 to 7 until July 23.
As part of the “2025 Cultural and Arts Welfare Project,” the program invites professional ceramic artists to teach hands-on lessons tailored to young learners’ needs.
Classes are being held at the Parenting Information Sharing Center on the second floor of the Namdong-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
