Incheon Launches Pilot Transport Program for Bedridden Persons with Disabilities
Incheon Metropolitan City announced the launch of a pilot mobility support program for bedridden persons with disabilities, which began on June 30.
The program aims to improve access to medical services and protect the right to health for bedridden individuals, while significantly easing the financial burden of transportation to hospitals.
The pilot program will run until the end of this year and is open to Incheon residents officially diagnosed as bedridden based on a medical certificate.
Incheon Holds “Our Neighborhood City Hall” in Michuhol-gu to Address Local Issues
Incheon Metropolitan City visited key civil complaint sites in Michuhol-gu on July 7 as part of the on-site communication program “Our Neighborhood City Hall,” jointly operated with the Incheon Metropolitan Council.
The program reflects the direction of the city’s 8th popularly elected administration and aims to directly address local issues in all 10 districts of Incheon by listening to residents on site.
During the visit to Michuhol-gu, officials reviewed four major issues: the creation of small parking lots in densely populated areas of Munhak-dong, progress on the Yonghyeon-Hakik block 1 Urban Development Project, the status of the Incheon-daero road reconfiguration project, and a proposal to add a new station called “Singi Market Station” on Subway Line 4.
Incheon Conducts Special Inspection of Summer Delivery and Mass-Catering Restaurants
Incheon Metropolitan City conducted special hygiene inspections from June 23 to 27 at 220 food businesses, including delivery restaurants and buffet-style eateries that serve summer items such as patbingsu (shaved ice), coffee, and ice cream.
The inspections focused on businesses where demand for cold foods spikes in summer, such as franchise delivery restaurants, buffets, and food courts. Samples of major food items were also collected and tested for safety.
Businesses found in violation were immediately required to correct the issues and were subject to administrative action. These establishments will be reinspected within six months.
Incheon Welfare Center to Host Parent Education Program for Families with Disabled Children
The Incheon Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities, operated by the Incheon Social Service Center, will hold a parent education session on July 24 at the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Lifelong Learning Center.
The session, titled “Reflecting on Career Decisions for People with Disabilities and Shifting the Paradigm,” is open to any guardians raising children with disabilities, including ten participants from the existing support group for parents of children with cerebral palsy.

IFEZ Promotion Center to Reopen on July 8 After Renovation
IFEZ announced that the IFEZ Promotion Center, located in G-Tower in Songdo International City, will reopen on July 8 after completing a remodeling project.
The renovation work, which began in April and lasted about three months, was carried out to upgrade the center’s outdated facilities and exhibits, which have been in use for 10 years.
The newly renovated center presents the past, present, and future vision of IFEZ using diverse media such as digital content, photographs, exhibition panels, and dioramas.
Incheon to Host Marine Waste Gear Collection Contest from July 7 to 16
Incheon Metropolitan City will carry out coastal cleanup activities from July 7 to 16, targeting abandoned fishing gear near ports in Ganghwa-gun and Ongjin-gun.
The items to be collected include discarded fishing nets and traps left around the harbors and on the shorelines.
In the previous year, three locations participated in the contest and collected a total of 142.19 tons of marine debris.
Incheon to Operate Citizen Academy on Urban Regeneration Projects
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will operate the “2025 Incheon Urban Regeneration Citizen Academy” from August 11 to September 19.
The academy aims to help residents better understand urban regeneration projects, prevent conflicts during the project process, and enhance the capabilities of local housing associations for smoother implementation.
Applications are open until July 31 and can be submitted via QR code or an online application form, also available in the announcements section of the Incheon City Hall website.
Incheon Strengthens Chicken Safety Inspections Ahead of Sambok Season
The Incheon Institute of Health and Environment will strengthen safety inspections of chicken meat during the upcoming sambok season, when demand typically peaks.
As about 33% of the yearly poultry supply is processed during this period, the city will extend inspection hours from July 7, about one week before Chobok, until August 9, which is Malbok.
Inspections will run from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, including Saturdays. Additional inspectors will be deployed to ensure thorough hygiene and quality control throughout the period.
