Incheon holds sexual harassment prevention training for senior officials
The Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it held a sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention training session for senior officials on June 27 at City Hall. Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok and leaders from affiliated organizations attended the session.
The training aimed to prevent workplace misconduct and promote gender awareness among leadership, helping to build a healthier and safer public service culture.
The city plans to continue offering practical and effective training programs to improve awareness and prevent violence across all levels of government.
Incheon Free Economic Zone expands biotech cluster in revised development plan for Songdo 11 District
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that the revised development plan for Songdo 11 District was approved during the 144th Free Economic Zone Committee meeting, held by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on June 26.
Following the designation of Songdo International City as a specialized biotech zone in June 2024, investment demand has increased. However, available land remains limited.
The IFEZ Authority plans to swiftly complete follow-up administrative procedures, such as environmental and traffic impact assessments and urban design reviews, and finalize the revised implementation plan for the High-Tech Industry Cluster within this year.
Incheon education office hosts forum with parent networks across the city
The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education has begun a new series of meetings with parent networks in each district to improve communication with local communities.
The first session was held on June 7 with parents from special education schools. Over the course of this year, a total of 11 meetings will be held with parents from kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as special education institutions.
The education office will deliver feedback gathered during the sessions to relevant departments and monitor the progress of policy implementation based on parent input.
Incheon education office holds multicultural education council with local partners
The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education held the first 2025 Multicultural Education Community Council on June 7.
The Council was established in 2010 to provide systematic support for students from immigrant backgrounds.
This year, it has expanded to include 48 institutions, with seven new organizations—such as immigration and foreign resident support centers—joining the initiative.
An official from the education office emphasized the importance of trust-based cooperation among institutions and stated that the office will continue to serve as a bridge for communication and coordination.
Yeonsu-gu signs friendship agreement with Cottonwood Heights, Utah
Yeonsu-gu in Incheon announced that it has signed an international friendship agreement with Cottonwood Heights in the state of Utah, United States.
Responding to an invitation from the U.S. city, a Yeonsu-gu delegation visited Cottonwood Heights and signed the agreement at City Hall on July 5, local time. The two cities committed to active exchanges in administration, culture, education, and the economy.
They also plan to build a regular communication system and arrange mutual visits to strengthen ties and boost urban competitiveness.
Namdong-gu invites schools to join “Namdong Saranghak Academy”, a local education program focused on community pride and heritage
Namdong-gu in Incheon is now recruiting elementary schools to take part in its “Namdong Saranghak Academy” education program, which runs from October to November.
The program helps students better understand and connect with their local community by teaching about Namdong-gu’s history, culture, and environment.
Schools that wish to participate must submit an application form specifying the number of classes, grade levels, preferred days, and time slots.
