“Report Everyday Inconveniences” — Incheon Launches Initiative to Improve Public Regulations
Incheon has announced that it will run a Public Regulation Reporting Period throughout September to address inconveniences citizens face in daily life and to help revitalize the local economy.
This initiative, held twice annually in March and September, is a citizen-participation program aimed at regulatory improvement. For the second half of this year, it will be carried out during the entire month of September.
Residents can easily submit regulatory complaints via email, while businesses and institutions will be supported through the Visiting Local Regulation Reporting Center, which provides direct consultation and filing services.
Incheon to Host 2025 Gender Equality Week Commemorative Event
Incheon has announced that it will hold a commemorative event for 2025 Gender Equality Week on September 3 at the Small Theater of the Incheon Culture and Arts Center.
Gender Equality Week, established under the Framework Act on Gender Equality, is designated to promote gender equality and raise public awareness.
This year’s event will be held under the slogan “Creating the Future Together, a Gender-Equal Incheon” and aims to foster a culture of gender equality. Around 500 participants, including local organizations and citizens, are expected to attend.
Incheon City to Launch AI-Based “i-Cadastral Manual” with Goal of Full Operation in December
Incheon has announced the full-scale rollout of its “i-Cadastral Manual” project, which utilizes generative artificial intelligence (AI) trained on cadastral-related regulations, manuals, Q&A documents, and case studies to support administrative staff in districts and counties.
Because cadastral affairs involve complex laws and procedures that cannot be sufficiently addressed through simple searches, the city plans to establish a “ChatGPT-based Q&A knowledge system” to improve accuracy in handling tasks and to provide staff with an instant reference tool.
The project is expected to significantly enhance both efficiency and precision in cadastral work by enabling quick retrieval and interpretation of extensive records while offering real-time Q&A linked to source materials.
Incheon Culture & Arts Center to Host Autumn “Intermittent Fasting Concert”
The “Intermittent Fasting Concert” will return this fall to the Incheon Culture & Arts Center. In September, the outdoor plaza will feature a “lunchtime open stage that empties the stomach but fills the soul with emotion.”
This season’s concert is organized in collaboration with the Incheon Cultural Foundation and will showcase local musicians, contributing to the promotion of Incheon’s popular music scene.
Designed to provide a moment of healing, the concert will be held free of charge with no age restrictions or advance reservations required.
Songdo Bird Habitat to Be Developed into a World-Class Healing Destination
The proposed Songdo International Eco Center is set to be developed into a world-class healing landmark, modeled after the London Wetland Centre.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) announced yesterday (28th) that it held the inaugural meeting of the Songdo International Eco Center World Healing Destination Task Force (TF) at the G-Tower in Songdo.
The task force will promote phased, systematic collaboration across various fields—including ecosystem conservation, wetland management, tourism and educational program operations, and integration with surrounding infrastructure—to ensure the project’s stability and long-term success.
Incheon Opens ‘Re-Platform’ Resource Circulation Promotion Center in Guwol-dong
Incheon has announced the opening of Re-Platform, a new resource circulation promotion and exhibition center, on the first floor of the Korea Asset Management Corporation’s (KAMCO) Incheon Regional Headquarters in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu.
The center was established to highlight the value of resource circulation in everyday life and to promote eco-friendly lifestyle practices, such as reducing the use of disposable products.
Visitors can explore 33 upcycling products—including bags made from discarded leather and eco-bags crafted from automobile airbags—along with 24 types of reusable container sets, food waste reducers, and promotional videos on resource circulation.
Incheon to Host Asian Congress of Architects from September 8 for Five Days in Songdo
The Korean Institute of Architects has announced that the Asian Congress of Architects will take place from September 8 to 12 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.
Co-hosted by the Institute and Incheon, and organized by 17 regional institutes, the congress will be a pan-Asian architectural festival bringing together about 20,000 architects from Korea and abroad, along with industry professionals and members of the public.
“Ride Safely” — Incheon Expands Safety Education for Personal Mobility Devices
Incheon has announced that it will continue to provide Personal Mobility (PM) Safety Education this year to foster a safe and convenient culture of using personal mobility devices.
The initiative comes amid a sharp increase in the use of e-scooters and other PM devices, which has heightened the need for accident prevention. The program is offered free of charge on a monthly basis.
The city has also been operating PM Supporters programs and promoting safety guidelines, running the safety education initiative for four consecutive years. These efforts have been recognized for contributing to the development of sustainable safety measures.
