Incheon City Launches Full-Scale Underground and Park Development of Seunggi Sewage Treatment Plant

Incheon City announced that it is launching a large-scale modernization project to move the Seunggi Public Sewage Treatment Facility underground and transform the upper space into a citizen-friendly park.

The "Seunggi Public Sewage Treatment Facility Modernization Project," with a total budget of 399.7 billion won, will begin construction and continue for 77 months with a target completion date of 2032. The project is expected to dramatically reduce odors and noise while providing residents with new recreational spaces.

Through this modernization project, the city expects to significantly reduce odors and noise that may occur during the sewage treatment process, and simultaneously achieve energy savings and carbon emission reduction effects through the introduction of eco-friendly facilities.

Incheon City announced that it successfully conducted 'Canada Cruise Tourism Sales Marketing' in Vancouver, Canada, to develop new strategic cruise markets.

The initiative was jointly pursued by Incheon City and Incheon Tourism Organization to promote the competitiveness of Incheon cruise tourism to the North American market and establish a foundation for developing new strategic markets.

Incheon City is conducting a reader participation subscription event along with the publication of Incheon Now July-August issue (Vol. 94) to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the founding of its English newsletter, Incheon Now.

Incheon Now is an official English publication issued by Incheon City to communicate with readers from around the world and inform them of major municipal policy issues. It was first published in 2010 and marks its 15th anniversary this year.

The 15th anniversary events include a reader quiz event (You Quiz on the Incheon), a photo submission event (Incheon Memories Film, theme: A Day Colored by Light), and reader reviews (Reader's Voice). Each person can participate in only one event, and winners will receive coffee coupons.

This course will be conducted in the winter lecture room of Shintree Library and is designed for 15 seniors in the district. It consists of various activities such as silver gymnastics, board games, art, and crafts to enhance physical and mental health and expand social interaction.

Incheon Yeonsu-gu Recruits Participants for 'Companion Plant Care Project'

Incheon's Yeonsu-gu is recruiting participants for the 'Companion Plant Care Project' aimed at promoting emotional stability for urban residents and practicing green living.

This project is composed of a potting experience event by the Yeonsu-gu Facility Safety Management Corporation and a mobile companion plant clinic by the National Sejong Arboretum, based on Yeonsu-gu's budget and administrative support.

The 'Potting Experience Event' will be conducted in three sessions from Wednesday to Friday each week from the 10th to the 26th of next month, designed to allow residents to directly repot plants and interact with them.
