Incheon Economic Agency Festival 2025 to Relaunch as ‘IFEsta’
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority(IFEZ) said it will integrate the representative festivals of Songdo, Yeongjong, and Cheongna, held over the past three years, under the new brand ‘IFEsta’ and relaunch it as a K-Culture festival.
The authority plans to grow IFEsta into a leading K-Culture content festival in Korea and expand projects so that the K-content cultural industry can settle in the Incheon Free Economic Zone.
Songdo International City will focus on art content, Yeongjong International City on tourism and leisure content, and Cheongna International City on film and media content, using local strengths and resources to create various programs.
Incheon Yeongjong International School Secures 150 Billion in Funding
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority began procedures to secure over 100 billion in development profits for the construction of Yeongjong International School.
According to the authority, about 150 billion will be invested in the school, which will be built on a 96,000㎡ site in the Midan City area of Unbuk-dong, Jung-gu.
To secure the funds, the authority prepared a plan to use development profits from the Incheon Global Town project in Songdo International City.
Global Music Festival ‘Lovechips Festival 2025’ to Be Held at Incheon Sangsang Platform
Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization said they will hold the global music festival ‘Lovechips Festival 2025’ on September 6–7 at the outdoor plaza of the Incheon Sangsang Platform.
‘Lovechips Festival 2025’ is a global music festival supported by the city and the tourism organization. It was first held last year at the Sangsang Platform and received strong response, and this year marks its second event.
This year’s festival will be held under the slogan “A step together toward a beautiful world” and will feature performances by artists from many countries.
Incheon Introduces AI Reading System for Mobile Tuberculosis Screening
Incheon Metropolitan City said it will add an artificial intelligence (AI) reading system to its mobile tuberculosis screening project with the Korean National Tuberculosis Association Incheon Branch.
The mobile tuberculosis screening project provides free checkups at sites in need of testing, using mobile screening vehicles or portable X-ray equipment.
Target groups include people aged 65 or older, the homeless, residents of small rented rooms, and undocumented migrants. Facilities or institutions that want screenings can contact their local public health center.
Incheon Office of Education Recruiting Participants for ‘579th Hangul Day Festival’
The Incheon Office of Education announced it will host the 579th Hangul Day Festival under the theme ‘With Hangul! To the World!’ with the National Museum of World Writing, and is recruiting organizations to join the main programs.
The festival will be held on October 9 at Songdo Central Park Lawn Square, to celebrate the excellence of Hangul and introduce diverse cultural and artistic content. On-site events will include a Hangul Day ceremony, lectures, performances, experience booths, and a market.
Applications must be submitted via email by September 12, and results will be announced in the third week of September through the Read-Walk-Write platform and individual contact.
‘4th Gyeyang Light Festival’ Opens on the 5th
Incheon Gyeyang-gu announced it will hold the opening ceremony of the ‘4th Gyeyang Light Festival’ on the 5th near Jubuto-ro around Gyeyang Sports Park.
This year’s festival, held under the theme of ‘Dream,’ will run for four months until December 31, lighting up Gyeyang nights and delivering a message of hope.
The opening day on the 5th will feature an opening performance at 6:50 p.m., followed by a ceremony, lighting performance, and congratulatory performances.
Incheon Seo-gu Announces Free Car Inspection and Maintenance Day
Incheon Seo-gu announced it will hold the ‘2025 Free Car Inspection and Maintenance Day’ event twice, to support safe driving during the Chuseok holiday season and promote sound vehicle management.
The first event will be held on the 21st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the second on the 19th of next month at the parking lot of the district office main building.
Residents wishing to participate can bring their cars and registration documents directly to the site, with no prior reservation required.
