Incheon City Launches Customized Public Transport Fare Support for Newborn Families


Incheon City said it will begin the “i+ Transportation Fare Dream” program on October 1, adding benefits for parents of newborn families to the existing “Incheon i-Pass.”

The program is the first public transport welfare policy in the country tailored to newborn families, aiming to reduce parents’ fare burden and raise the birth rate.

The support targets parents of newborn families living in Incheon who register a child’s birth on or after January 1, 2025. Parents can receive a refund of 50–70% of their monthly public transport fares until the year before the child enters elementary school.






Incheon City Strengthens “24-Hour Response System” for Infectious Diseases During Chuseok Holiday


Incheon City said it will strengthen its emergency response system against respiratory infections, waterborne and foodborne infections, and newly imported infectious diseases during the Chuseok holiday.

The City will operate an emergency disease control team for seven days from October 3 to 9.

In particular, to prepare for newly imported infectious diseases, six designated hospitals with 96 isolation beds will operate at all times, and for outbreaks of waterborne and foodborne infections, city, gun, and gu epidemiological investigation teams will be dispatched.






Museums in Incheon Open During the Long Chuseok Holiday


Incheon Metropolitan City Museum said its main building and four branches will remain open during the Chuseok holiday.

The main building, Songam Museum of Art, Geomdan Prehistory Museum, Korean Immigration History Museum, and Incheon City Museum of History will each offer special exhibitions and experiences for families, couples, and friends to enjoy.

An official from the City Museum said they recommend a museum visit to citizens thinking about how to spend this long holiday, which lasts up to ten days.






Incheon City Dance Company Performs in New Zealand


Incheon City Dance Company said it successfully finished invitation performances in Christchurch on September 20 and in Auckland on September 23 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Korea–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The performances were hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Incheon City, and organized by the Embassy of Korea in New Zealand, the Consulate in Auckland, and the Dance Company.

The New Zealand tour was more than a commemorative stage; it was a meaningful diplomatic event marking 10 years of the FTA and confirmed that Korea and New Zealand will continue cultural and economic cooperation for the next 10 years.






Michuhol-gu to Improve Two Old Children’s Parks


Incheon Michuhol-gu said it will carry out environment improvement projects for two old children’s parks.

The target parks are Duri Children’s Park and Samho Children’s Park, which were built over 20 years ago and now face aging facilities and lack of amenities. A total of 400 million won will be invested, and the project will be completed by December.

An official from Michuhol-gu said, “We will finish the project on time to provide visitors with safe and pleasant park environments.”






Art History Lecture for Citizens, “Songam Art Academy”


Incheon Songam Museum of Art said it will hold the free art history lecture “Songam Art Academy” for citizens starting October 22.

Celebrating its 16th term, Songam Art Academy has introduced various fields of Korean art history and shared the beauty and value of Korean traditional art with citizens.

The 16th Songam Art Academy will cover Korean architecture, a theme not addressed before, and will run every Wednesday at 2 p.m. for four weeks from October 22.





 

Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, Digital Trade Support Center “deXter” Opens


Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority said it held the opening ceremony of the Incheon Digital Trade Support Center (deXter) yesterday (29th) afternoon at Incheon Technopark.

The ceremony was attended by Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Incheon Technopark (ITP), local companies, and university students.

The center will connect with KOTRA’s four digital trade platforms to support the whole export process of local companies.

Through this, Incheon will strengthen a non-face-to-face export support system based on digital trade and grow as an innovation hub to improve the global competitiveness of local companies.
