Incheon Launches Ultra-Precise Real-Time Bus Tracking Service
The City of Incheon has announced the launch of a real-time bus location service available through Kakao Map. Citizens can easily access the service by activating the “Ultra-Precise Bus” feature from the menu bar next to the search bar on the main screen of Kakao Map. The service covers the entire Incheon area, including all 341 city bus routes and approximately 2,600 buses.
Incheon to Strengthen Public Care with Specialized Dementia Nursing Home
Incheon is enhancing its public care services with professional personnel and modern facilities. According to the city officials, the "Incheon City Dementia Nursing Home" is under construction with a target completion date in the first half of 2026. The facility aims to improve the quality of life for dementia patients and their families. Trained staff who have completed specialized dementia care education will be deployed, and customized care programs tailored to residents’ conditions and needs will be provided.
Incheon Office of Education Conducts On-Site Training in Colombia for Digital Education Support Project
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education has announced that it is conducting an on-site training program in Bogotá and Pitalito, Colombia, as part of its digital education support project in partnership countries. The nine-day training runs until October 5th and includes participation by five education professionals and teachers. They will introduce Incheon’s AI-based literacy education program and strengthen cooperation networks with Colombian educators. This advanced training builds on the success of the exchange program held in Incheon last May and will be conducted for over 100 local teachers at schools in Pitalito and Guasca.
Incheon Education Office to Offer Custom Career and Job Lectures for Students in October
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education will host a customized career education series titled "Career Curiosity Talk-Talk" from October second to 30th, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The lectures will be held online by the Incheon Cyber Career Education Center at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. each evening. Around 2,000 career mentors will serve as instructors, delivering practical career insights to elementary, middle, and high school students. Lecture topics will include career exploration with current professionals such as ICU nurses, occupational therapists, and police officers; cutting-edge fields like drones, 3D printing, and generative AI; and cultural and artistic careers like florists, event planners, and publishing marketers.
Bupyeong District Wins Ministerial Award for Ecological Restoration and Urban Regeneration Projects
Incheon’s Bupyeonggu District has won the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the 21st Korea Local Government Management Awards. The award recognizes the district’s “굴포천 Ecological Stream Restoration Project” and the “Sustainable Bupyeong 11th Street Urban Regeneration New Deal Project” in the category of regional resource development. The awards are co-hosted by the ‘Ministry of the Interior and Safety’ and ‘The Korea Times’ with support from five central government ministries. The event aims to showcase exemplary policies by local governments and promote them as successful models for regional development. The 굴포천 project, which began in 2017, is a large-scale environmental initiative to restore the ecological function of a previously covered and segmented stream. Final construction is underway, with completion expected in the second half of this year.
Seo-gu Implements Comprehensive Waste Management Plan for Chuseok Holiday
To ensure a clean and pleasant 추석 holiday, Incheon’s Seo-gu District has announced a comprehensive waste management plan for the holiday period. From September 29th to October 2nd, the district will promote its “Lead by Example—Clean Up in Front of My Home and Shop” campaign. Measures are in place to minimize pollution and hygiene issues that typically arise because of increased household waste during the holidays. The district is rolling out phased initiatives including public awareness campaigns, food waste reduction guidance, and crackdowns on illegal dumping and burning of waste. Special task force and monitoring teams will also be on duty to promptly respond to waste-related complaints during the holiday.
