Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority to Host ‘Boom-up Festival 2025’ on October 28


Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) announced that it will hold the Boom-up Festival 2025 at Incheon Startup Park on October 28.

Under the slogan “Beyond Limits, Toward Unicorns,” the festival will feature a variety of programs to support startup growth, global expansion, investment attraction, and innovation ecosystem networking.

Now in its fifth year, the Boom-up Festival has established itself as a leading event that brings together startups, investors, public institutions, and universities to share achievements and foster collaboration since the opening of Incheon Startup Park in 2021.






Incheon Port Records All-Time High Used Car Exports in January–September 2025


Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that used car exports through Incheon Port reached 493,000 units between January and September this year.

This figure represents a 35% increase compared to the previous record for the same period in 2023, when 366,000 units were exported.

The nine-month total has already surpassed last year’s annual total of 479,000 units.

Incheon Port serves as the main gateway for Korea’s used car exports, handling 70–90% of the nation’s outbound volume in a market that has grown to around 6 trillion won annually.






Incheon Submits Application for Designation of 1GW Offshore Wind Power Cluster


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has officially submitted an application to the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment for the designation of a public-led offshore wind power cluster.

The proposed 1GW wind farm will be located 22 kilometers southwest of Baeka-do in Ongjin-gun and is expected to replace about 10.7% of the power generated by the existing Yeongheung Thermal Power Plant.

The application outlines the project's execution capacity, grid connection plans, strategies for community acceptance and environmental impact mitigation, and plans for profit-sharing and industrial ecosystem development.






World-OKTA Convention to Be Held in Incheon, October 27–30


The 29th World-OKTA Convention and 2025 Korea Business Expo Incheon will take place at Songdo Convensia from October 27 to 30.

Incheon was selected as the host city following an on-site inspection in August last year, during which the city was recognized for its excellent international accessibility, diverse industries and well-developed infrastructure, global business environment, and strong track record in hosting major international events.

This year’s convention marks the first major international economic event since the Overseas Koreans Agency was established in Incheon. Around 2,000 participants, including Korean businesspeople from around the world, overseas buyers, and domestic entrepreneurs, are expected to attend.






Incheon Waterworks Conducts On-Site Inspection to Ensure Stable Water Supply to Island Areas


Incheon Waterworks Headquarters announced that it conducted an on-site inspection on Daeyeonpyeong-do in Ongjin-gun on October 21 to assess the local water supply situation and review key facilities such as village water systems and seawater desalination plants.

Currently, Daeyeonpyeong-do operates three village water supply systems and three desalination facilities, ensuring a stable supply of domestic water to residents.

The inspection was carried out amid increasing water demand due to rising tourist numbers and growing concerns over resultant groundwater depletion, aiming at reviewing the operational status of the island’s water infrastructure and identifying effective improvement measures to secure a more reliable water supply.
