Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority declared the ‘AI City Initiative’ at the opening ceremony and said it will host the Global Top 10 City Week 2025 from December 1 to 4 at Songdo Convensia and Gyeongwonjae by Walkerhill.
The event brings together IFEZ’s main strategy fields—smart city, bio, and sustainability—to show an AI-based future city model where AI and advanced technologies blend across the city, industry, and environment, while also building a cooperation system among industry, academia, and research.
Delegations from more than 15 cities in 10 countries and related experts will join the four-day event, which is expected to serve as an innovation platform that opens a new AI-based urban paradigm.

Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority said that yesterday (the 1st) afternoon at Songdo Convensia, it successfully held the 2025 IFEZ Global ESG-AX Forum with experts from domestic and international academia, companies, international organizations, and overseas research institutes.
The forum was a place to share new strategies and cooperation directions for transitioning to a sustainable city, with many international organization officials and overseas research experts attending.
Participants presented various opinions on key issues for future urban development, including carbon neutrality, AI-based city management, the blue economy, and sustainable growth.
Incheon City to Conduct Daily Drunk-Driving Checks Until Early Next Year
Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency said that it will carry out intensive drunk-driving enforcement until January, together with the Local Police Committee, for the year-end and New Year period.
The police will conduct daily drunk-driving checks, and every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, all 10 police stations in Incheon City will carry out joint focused enforcement.
The agency explained that continuous enforcement this year reduced drunk-driving accidents to 483 cases from January to October, a 6.4% decrease from last year.

The Community Chest of Korea in Incheon held the opening ceremony for the ‘Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign’ yesterday (the 1st) at Incheon City Hall’s Aettre Square, starting activities with a fundraising goal of 10.88 billion.
The campaign will run for 62 days, from December 1 to January 31, 2026.

Incheon City received the top award for the third consecutive year in the national evaluation of city and district child protection systems led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, strengthening its position as a leading local government in child welfare.

Incheon City announced yesterday that industrial-use land within Incheon Robot Land was designated a high-tech industrial complex.
The “Incheon Robot Land Development Project” is a core pledge of the 8th administration to build an advanced robot industry cluster and is a key strategy in the Incheon Robot Industry Innovation Growth Policy announced on October 29. This designation lays an important foundation for Incheon to achieve a 3-trillion-Won-plus robot industry by 2030.

Incheon Proposes the First Solution to Political Banner Pollution
As political banner proliferation became a nationwide social problem, Incheon City’s 2023 ordinance to strengthen banner management is receiving renewed attention.
With the President ordering system improvements and the government announcing strong measures, concerns are rising that current laws cannot effectively regulate banner issues.
Incheon City said the government’s response now acknowledges the limits of the current system and confirms the necessity of the 2023 ordinance revision.
