The Museum of Korea Emigration History
▶ About the Museum
Since the epoch of the Three Kingdoms, as a pivotal role in international maritime interchange, in the late 19thcentury and early20th century Incheon was the last homeland soil on which 121 immigrants to Hawaii sugar cane farms in 1902 and immigrants to
South American countries like Mexico and Cuba in the early 1900 set foot.
In 2003, on the 100thanniversaryofAmericaemigration,Korea'sfirstMuseum of Korea Emigration History was established to admire the pioneer life of our ancestors in other countries and also to communicate the traces of those to posterities.
After opening the museum in 2008, we hold yearly special exhibitions through active research based on emigration-related materials owned by overseas Koreans. Also, for the citizens of Incheon and the general public, we are offering social education programs to
promote the rich heritage of Korea's emigration history.
We hope this will be an opportunity to have a systematic collection of about 150 years of Korean emigration history. Furthermore, we hope to have the past, present, and future coexist through a network of domestic and overseas Korean communities.

- Hours of Operation: from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (No admission after 5:30 p.m..)
- Regular Holidays: The museum is closed on Mondays, the day after national holidays, and January 1st.
- Admission Fees: free of charge
- Group visit: Groups of more than 30 must be booked at least one week in advance. -Cultural Heritage Commentator for Regular Exhibitions: 10:00 - 17:00 (English, Chinese,and Japanese commentator sessions should be reserved in advance.)

▶ 博物馆介绍
从三国时代以来 ，仁川一直 是海上 国际交流 的中心 。仁川 港开放后 ，于 1902 年韩国第一批移民者 122人从 仁川港出发到夏威夷蔗田 ，此后，仁川是于 1900年代初移民到墨西哥 、古巴等南美国家的韩国人最后一次踏上的韩国土地 。
在2003年美国移民 100周年 之际， 仁川广域市市民和海外同胞齐心协力建设了韩国首家移史博物馆 — 韩国移民史博物馆，以纪念在异他乡开辟新生活的 祖先 ，并将其精神代相传。
2008年开馆后，每年都举办特别展览, 主要出由海外同胞收藏的与移民 历史相关的资料，并以此为基础进行调查活动。此外，通过社会教育项目，向仁川市民及普通群众介绍韩国移历史 。

三国時代以来 国際海上交流の 中心地だった仁川は開港期時代の1902年にハワイの砂糖きび農場への最初の移民者 121人を始め、 1900年代初頭のメキシコ、キュ ーバその他の南米諸国に公式移民した移民者が最後に踏んだ祖国の地でした。
韓国移民史博物館は、2003年に米州移民100周年を迎え韓国の先祖たちの海外での開拓者としての生涯を称え、その足跡を子孫たちに伝える為に仁川広域市の市民と海外同胞が共に志を合わせて建設した韓国最初の移民史博物館です。
2008年の開館後、海外同胞たちが所蔵した移民史関連資料をベースに活発な調査活動を通じて毎年特別展を開催しており、社会教育プログラムにより仁川市民及び一般人に韓国移民史に関する多様な内容を知らせています。
150年以上に至る韓国の移民歴史を体系化できる契機を備え、また、国内外の同胞社会のネットワーク形成を通じて、単に移民の過去を展示するだけではなく、過去と現在と未来が共存する博物館となるでしょう。
