Incheon Recognized As Outstanding Local Government In National Oral Health Program Evaluation


Incheon Metropolitan City has been selected as an outstanding local government in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s nationwide evaluation of oral health programs. 


Recognized for its preventive oral healthcare policies, the city received a Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation at the 81st Oral Health Day ceremony. 


The evaluation, conducted under Article 8 of the Oral Health Act, assesses local governments' performance in implementing oral health policies and programs, with the goal of identifying and promoting best practices nationwide. 

Incheon has consistently pursued preventive public oral health initiatives aimed at improving residents' oral health and expanding access to dental care services.




Incheon Institute Calls For Stronger Museum Operations Beyond Facility Expansion


As Incheon continues to expand its museum infrastructure through the construction of new facilities, a new study has suggested that greater emphasis should be placed on operational efficiency such as strengthening management, staffing, finances, and content development. 


The study conducted by the Incheon Institute examined the current status of 15 public museums in Incheon and analyzed interviews with museum officials as well as patterns of public museum use. 


Key issues identified included insufficient efforts to improve the quality of museum facilities, a lack of specialized programs and diverse visitor groups, and concerns over shortages of professional staff and declining expertise. The report also pointed out inadequate operational support systems, and sluggish recovery in visitor numbers, stating the need for more effective strategies to revitalize museums and enhance their long-term sustainability.





Incheon International Ocean Forum To Present Vision For Global Maritime Innovation


The 7th Incheon International Ocean Forum (IIOF 2026) will be held at Songdo Convensia from July 15 to 16. 


This year’s forum will be held under the theme, "The World Calls, the Ocean Waves," and will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on the maritime industry and its future development. 


The event will feature five main sessions covering shipping and logistics, smart ports, marine tourism, marine environment and energy, and AI-powered maritime cities, along with a special session on Incheon's AI industry. 

During each session, experts from Korea and abroad will discuss ways to strengthen the competitiveness of the maritime sector and promote sustainable growth models.




100 Jung-gu Civil Servants To Be Reassigned To New Jemulpo-gu


A dispute over staffing for Jemulpo-gu, which is set to launch on July 1 as part of Incheon's administrative restructuring, has been resolved through mediation by the IncheonMetropolitan City government. 


According to Dong-gu, Jung-gu and Dong-gu have reached an agreement to assign 100 of Jung-gu’s civil servants to the new district, which will have a workforce of 720 employees. 


Initially, an agreement was reached to transfer 107 public officials from Jung-gu to Jemulpo-gu through mediation by the city, but the final scale was adjusted to 100 people in consideration of personnel transferring out of Dong-gu.





Incheon Launches Promotional Campaign For ‘Incheon Haneulsu’ Tap Water Brand 


The Incheon Waterworks Headquarters has launched a promotional campaign to raise awareness of its premium tap water brand, "Incheon Haneulsu," in conjunction with the 31st World Environment Day. 


On June 5, Incheon Waterworks hosted the "Incheon Haneulsu Experience Campaign" by setting up a promotional booth at the Environment Day celebrations at Incheon Grand Park’s outdoor stage. 


The campaign was designed to allow residents to experience firsthand the safety and quality of the city's tap water, helping to build public confidence in the water supply.
