From open seas and striking rock formations to lush forests and fine sandy beaches, Incheon’s islands are treasures, each with its own natural beauty and culture. Yet with 192 islands spread across the sea, it can be difficult to understand their locations and distinctive features at a glance. To bring their individual charms together under one identity—and help residents and visitors recognize them more easily—Incheon has created an integrated island brand.
탁 트인 바다와 독특한 형태의 기암괴석, 푸른 숲과 고운 모래사장까지. 인천의 섬들은 저마다 독특한 자연과 문화를 간직한 보물 같은 공간이다. 하지만 192개에 이르는 섬의 위치와 특징을 한눈에 이해하기는 쉽지 않다. 이에 인천시는 개별 섬의 매력을 하나의 이미지로 연결하고 시민과 관광객이 인천의 섬을 보다 쉽게 인식할 수 있도록 통합브랜드를 구축했다.

Mapping Incheon’s Islands at a Glance
인천의 섬을 한눈에 디자인하다
Where are the islands scattered off Incheon’s coast, and how can you reach them? To make those answers easy to find, the city created the Incheon Island Route Map. It connects major departure points with islands by region, using colors and lines to distinguish travel routes clearly. By presenting complex geographic information as simply as a subway map, it lets travelers see each island’s location and how to get there at a glance. On this map, Incheon’s islands no longer feel far away. Linked by ports and ferry routes, they become accessible destinations for both everyday life and travel.
인천 앞바다에 흩어진 섬들은 어디에 있고, 어떻게 찾아갈 수 있을까. 인천시는 이 질문에 누구나 쉽게 답을 찾을 수 있도록 ‘인천섬 노선도’를 만들었다. 노선도는 주요 출발지와 섬을 권역별로 연결하고, 색상과 선으로 이동 경로를 명확하게 구분했다. 복잡한 지리 정보를 지하철 노선도처럼 간결하게 표현해 섬의 위치와 접근 방법을 한눈에 파악할 수 있도록 한 것이다. 노선도 위에서 인천의 섬은 더 이상 멀리 떨어진 공간이 인다. 항구와 배편을 따라 이어지는 언제든 찾아갈 수 있는 또 하나의 생활권이자 여행지가 된다.

하나의 이름으로 완성한 ‘인천섬’
An integrated brand has also been created to give Incheon’s islands a unified identity. The name “Incheon Islands” was chosen for its clarity and representativeness, and its brand identity draws on ocean waves and the flowing shapes of islands. Sub-brands reflecting the character and stories of individual islands will be developed in stages. The goal is to preserve each island’s appeal while building a shared identity under “Incheon Islands” and strengthening their tourism competitiveness. A slogan highlighting the islands’ convenient access from the Seoul metropolitan area has also been introduced. Incheon plans to use the brand and slogan to raise awareness of its islands in Korea and abroad.
인천의 섬을 하나의 이미지로 알리기 위한 통합브랜드도 탄생했다. 브랜드 이름은 직관성과 대표성을 고려해 ‘인천섬’으로 정했으며 바다의 물결과 섬의 유연한 형태를 모티브로 한 BI를 개발했다. 통합브랜드를 중심으로 각 섬의 개성과 이야기를 담은 하위 브랜드도 단계적으로 구축할 계획이다. 개별 섬의 매력은 살리면서도 ‘인천섬’이라는 공동의 정체성을 형성해 관광 경쟁력을 높여 나가기 위해서다. 수도권에서 가깝게 만날 수 있는 섬이라는 지리적 강점을 담은 슬로건도 선보였다. 인천시는 통합브랜드와 슬로건을 활용해 인천섬의 인지도와 매력을 국내외에 널리 알릴 예정이다.

Transforming an Island’s First Impression
섬의 첫인상을 바꾸다
Deokjeokdo was the first island to adopt the integrated Incheon Islands brand. The gate at Jinri Port—one of the first sights visitors see on arrival—now carries the new design. The signage and exterior of Deokjeokdo Sea Station, where passengers purchase ferry tickets, have also been renewed. Installations introducing the island’s history and major attractions help visitors encounter its stories naturally. This is more than a refurbishment of aging facilities: it is new tourism content designed to reshape first impressions and bring Deokjeokdo’s identity and appeal to life. With its port, visitor information facilities, and streetscape linked by a unified design, the island is emerging as a destination with a clearer, more distinctive character.
인천섬 통합브랜드가 가장 먼저 적용된 곳은 덕적도다. 관광객이 덕적도에 도착해 처음 마주하는 진리항 선착장 게이트는 인천섬의 새로운 디자인을 입었다. 승선권을 구매하는 덕적도 바다역의 간판과 외관도 정비했으며, 역사와 주요 관광명소를 소개하는 상징물을 설치해 방문객이 섬의 이야기를 자연스럽게 접할 수 있도록 했다. 이는 단순히 노후화된 시설을 정비하는 걸 넘어서 섬의 첫인상을 바꾸고 덕적도의 정체성과 매력을 경험하도록 만드는 새로운 관광 콘텐츠다. 항구와 안내시설, 거리의 표정이 하나의 디자인으로 연결되면서 덕적도는 보다 선명한 인상을 지닌 여행지로 다시 태어나고 있다.

Deokjeokdo is the main island of a region comprising eight islands. Its clear blue sea, lush forest trails, and rolling ridgelines come together to offer a rich variety of island experiences in one place.
덕적도는 8개의 섬으로 이루어진 덕적도권역의 중심 섬이다. 맑고 푸른 바다와 울창한 숲길, 높고 낮은 능선이 어우러져 섬 여행의 다양한 즐거움을 한곳에서 만날 수 있다.

⦁ Hobak Hoegwan
⦁ 호박회관
Sweet pumpkins grown on Deokjeokdo are prized for their flavor and nutritional value, thanks to the sea breeze. Hobak Hoegwan is a cafe serving drinks and baked goods made with this local specialty. The interior is decorated with works by local residents and character merchandise designed by children.
덕적도에서 생산된 단호박은 해풍을 맞고 자라서 맛과 영양이 뛰어나다. 호박회관은 이러한 지역 특산물을 활용해 음료부터 빵까지 다양한 메뉴를 선보이는 카페이다. 내부는 마을 주민들이 만든 작품과 아이들이 직접 만든 캐릭터 굿즈 등으로 꾸며져 있다.
⦁ Seopori Beach
⦁ 서포리 해수욕장
One of Deokjeokdo’s best-known beaches, Seopori Beach has a crescent-shaped stretch of fine sand and a forest of pine trees more than 200 years old. An auto campground stands near the beach, along with a children’s water-play area for families. Every summer, the Juseom Juseom Music Concert brings even more to enjoy.
반달 모양의 고운 백사장과 200년이 넘은 해송 숲을 지닌 덕적도의 대표적인 해수욕장이다. 해변 앞 오토캠핑장이 조성돼 있으며, 가족 단위의 관광객들을 위해 어린이 물놀이장을 따로 운영한다. 매년 여름이 되면 이곳에서 주섬주섬 음악회가 열려 다양한 즐길 거리를 선사한다.
⦁ Deokjeokdo Catholic Church
⦁ 덕적도성당
Deokjeokdo Catholic Church is one of the pilgrimage sites on Incheon’s islands. Father Benedict Zweber—known in Korea as Choi Bun-do—arrived in 1966 and spent the next decade contributing to the island’s development. He established a hospital and helped provide running water and electricity. The former Yu Peter Hospital, where patients were once treated, still stands today.
덕적도 성당은 인천섬 성지순례의 명소 가운데 한 곳이다. 1966년 이곳에 부임한 푸른 눈의 최분도 신부는 10년간 병원을 설립하고 상수도와 전기를 공급하는 등 지역 발전에 큰 역할을 했다. 아픈 사람들을 돌보던 옛 ‘복자 유베드루’ 병원 건물이 남아 있다.
⦁ Neungdol Pebble Beach

Unlike a typical sandy beach, Neungdol is covered with pebbles of many sizes. Reed fields and unusual rock formations create a distinctive landscape, while the clear sound of waves washing over the stones brings a sense of calm. A striking rock shaped like a crouching camel is a particular highlight.
다른 해변과 달리 크고 작은 자갈들이 가득한 해변이다. 주변으로 갈대 군락지가 있으며 기암괴석이 자리해 독특한 풍경을 선사한다. 자갈에 파도가 부딪치는 청아한 소리가 마음을 편안하게 만들어 주며, 특히 웅크린 낙타를 닮은 바위가 솟아있어 눈길을 끈다.
⦁ Soyado Island
⦁ 소야도
Soyado is a small island visible from Jinri Port. Since Deokjeok–Soya Bridge opened in 2018, travelers have been able to cross conveniently by car or bus. Twice a day at low tide, a 1.3-kilometer sandy path appears, linking Gatseom, Gandetseom, Songgotyeo, and Mulpureseom. Ttaeppuri Beach, where white sand meets blue waves, also draws visitors with its campground and convenient facilities.
덕적도 진리항에서 보이는 작은 섬이다. 2018년 덕적소야교가 개통돼 차나 버스로 편리하게 오갈 수 있게 됐다. 하루 두 차례 썰물이 되면 갓섬, 간뎃섬, 송곳여, 물푸레섬까지 이어지는 1.3㎞의 모랫길이 열려 자연의 신비로움을 느낄 수 있다. 하얀 모래사장과 푸른 물결이 어우러진 때뿌리 해변에는 캠핑장과 편의시설이 마련되어 있어 많은 관광객이 찾는다.
