Designing the Second Act of Life: Incheon Hosts ‘Retirement Planning Conference’


In celebration of the opening of the Incheon Metropolitan Retirement Planning Support Center, the city of Incheon held a ‘Retirement Planning Conference’ to raise awareness about retirement and promote its counseling, education, and related services.

Since January, Incheon has designated the Incheon Center for an Aging Society and the Namdong-Yeonsu branch of the National Pension Service as its official Retirement Planning Support Centers. These centers aim to provide more professional and systematic retirement services.

This event introduced a one-stop support system offering various retirement-related services in one place, focusing on helping citizens find real solutions to their concerns about preparing for later life.





Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Holds Opening Ceremony for Rural Study Program ‘Mallang Gaetti School’


On the 19th, the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education held the entrance ceremony for the family-stay rural education program, ‘Mallang Gaetti School.’

Officially launched this year, the program offers two types of experiences: a long-term stay of over six months and a short-term program lasting six days and five nights. Participating families can take part in a variety of educational activities at rural schools.

The education office expects this program to spark interest among urban students and parents while helping to revitalize rural schools at risk of closure.






Yeonsu Public Library to Hold Pre-Events for Book Festival


The Yeonsu Public Library in Incheon announced that it will hold a series of pre-events starting on the 22nd ahead of the 9th Yeonsu Book Festival, which will take place on the 24th of next month at the Seunggi Stream Outdoor Stage.

Pre-event activities include a crossword puzzle about the library, a book title word chain challenge, an e-stamp tour of local libraries and bookstores, double the usual book borrowing limit, and a storytelling project titled “Book Tree – 30 Years of Stories.”

Now in its ninth year, the Yeonsu Book Festival will be held on April 24 at the Seunggi Stream Outdoor Stage.




Tree Planting Campaign for Everyday Carbon Neutrality


On April 19, the ‘2025 Tree Planting Campaign for Carbon Offset Urban Forest’ was held at the 10th Neighborhood Park in Yeongjong Sky City, Jung-gu, Incheon.

Around 150 participants, including local residents and public figures, joined the event and planted 220 trees, including fringe trees and Deutzia.

A representative from Korea South-East Power Co. stated, “The role of residents and the local community is vital in achieving carbon neutrality,” adding, “We will continue promoting tree planting campaigns to lead the way in creating a sustainable environment.”
