Incheon City Activates Emergency Response TF to Support Export Companies with Tariff Issues


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will provide local businesses with comprehensive information on tariff-related issues through its “U.S. Trade Policy Emergency Response Task Force,” including updates on the latest tariff policies and each TF member institution’s response status.

As the U.S. government temporarily suspends additional tariffs by country for 90 days and bilateral negotiations between Korea and the U.S. begin in earnest, the city plans to closely monitor the progress of these talks and track related developments.

This support follows a working-level meeting held on the 18th, during which participating organizations agreed on the need for accurate and prompt information sharing to reduce uncertainty and concerns among businesses affected by the U.S. tariff measures.






Incheon City Seeks Solutions for Staffing Essential Medical Personnel at General Hospitals


Incheon Metropolitan City recently held a policy forum to discuss strategies for increasing the number of essential medical personnel at general hospitals.

The event was designed to investigate the current working conditions of doctors in general hospitals and identify factors that influence long-term retention, providing a basis for policy development aimed at reinforcing staffing in critical medical sectors.

More than 50 healthcare professionals, including members of the Public Health Support Team and representatives from Incheon’s general hospitals, gathered to exchange diverse opinions.






Incheon City Moves Forward with Urban Redevelopment around 11 Station Areas


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has signed basic cooperation agreements with the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) and other related agencies to advance urban redevelopment projects in 11 station areas of the city’s older districts.

This partnership aims to identify and implement tailored anchor projects to revitalize these station areas. Incheon will proceed step-by-step through agreement signing, working-level consultations, feasibility reviews, prioritization, and eventually, joint implementation of the projects.






Plan in Motion to Turn Ground-Level Gyeongin Expressway into Green Public Space


As the Gyeongin Expressway undergoes underground redevelopment, the existing ground-level section will be transformed into an eco-friendly public space.

Following the approval of a preliminary feasibility study in January, Incheon City is preparing a basic plan to convert the surface road into a local road with green spaces and at-grade intersections.

When the new underground expressway is completed, the old road will be repurposed to enhance the urban environment.






Incheon Agricultural Technology Center Hosts Seasonal Experience for the Start of Summer


To mark “Ip-ha,” the traditional start of summer, the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center will host seasonal experience programs on May 16 and 17.

Ip-ha, the seventh of the 24 solar terms, falls on May 5 and signifies the end of spring and the emergence of vibrant greenery in the fields and mountains.

Participants will learn about this seasonal tradition, make a rice cake snack with mugwort known as “Ssuk mixing,” and enjoy herbal tea associated with the period. The program will be held in the Living Science Room at the center.

Incheon citizens can register through the city’s integrated online reservation system starting May 1.






Incheon Education Museum Project Approved, Scheduled to Open in 2029


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has approved the preliminary evaluation for the establishment of the Incheon Education Museum.

With a total budget of 13 billion, the project will remodel the current Nambu Education Support Office building into a four-story structure with a basement. The museum is scheduled to open in December 2029.

The current office will be relocated to the site of the former Hyoyeol Elementary School in Dohwa-dong, Michuhol-gu, by 2028.







Mendelssohn and Schumann Explore the Theme of ‘Return’ in Incheon Philharmonic Concert


The Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra will host a concert centered on the theme of “Narratives of Return.”

Scheduled for Friday, May 16 at 7:30 PM at the Art Center Incheon Concert Hall, the performance will musically express the emotions of being away and the longing for home through the works of Mendelssohn and Schumann.

The concert, which captures feelings of unfamiliarity and nostalgia found in the composers’ music, is priced at 10,000 won and can be reserved via the Incheon Culture & Arts Center website, Art Center Incheon, NTicket, and Interpark Ticket.







Ganghwa’s First Winery Selected for National Brewing Tourism Support Project


Yeonmi Agricultural Corporation, located in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, has been selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ 2025 National Brewing Tourism Project.

The program supports local breweries producing traditional liquors by funding improvements and tourism experience programs, helping them evolve into regional attractions that contribute to local economic revitalization.

With this selection, Yeonmi will receive 120 million over two years to develop tailored projects combining brewing and tourism.
