Incheon Offers Free Wedding Venues to 40 Couples.


Incheon Metropolitan City has launched the "I-Plus Wedding Assistance Program" to support couples in planning affordable weddings. Through the program, 40 engaged couples will be offered free access to 15 public venues across the city, including hotels and art centers, for their wedding ceremonies. Each couple will also receive 1 million KRW in financial support for wedding expenses. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. At least one member of the couple must be a resident of Incheon, and applications can be submitted via a QR code available on the Incheon City Hall or Gyeyang-gu Family Center websites.







IFEZA Begins Replacing Outdated Signal Controllers at 56 Intersections in Songdo.


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZA) announced plans to replace outdated traffic signal controllers at 56 intersections in Songdo International City. With a budget of 570 million KRW, the project will be completed by October and will lay the groundwork for a next-generation Cooperative Intelligent Transport System (C-ITS). These controllers play a crucial role in managing the flow of vehicles and pedestrians to enhance traffic safety and efficiency. By 2027, IFEZA plans to replace signal controllers at all 165 intersections in Songdo in phases.






Incheon Distributes Assistive ICT Devices to People with Disabilities and National Meritorious Persons


Incheon Metropolitan City is distributing assistive information and communication technology (ICT) devices to improve digital accessibility for people with disabilities and persons with national merit. A total of 253 devices will be provided, including 62 for the visually impaired, 23 for those with physical or brain-related disabilities, and 45 for those with hearing or speech impairments, spanning 130 product types. Eligible recipients will receive up to 80% of the product cost covered. Additionally, basic livelihood security recipients and low-income individuals will receive an extra 50% discount on their share.






Incheon Launches Hygiene Inspection of Daycare Center Kitchens Ahead of Summer


Incheon Metropolitan City is intensifying hygiene inspections of daycare center meal services ahead of the summer, when the risk of foodborne illnesses increases. From May 7 to 27, the city will jointly conduct inspections with district and county offices at 393 daycare centers, covering about 60% of all centers slated for inspection this year. The inspections will focus on checking expired ingredients, preserved food samples, and the general sanitary conditions of kitchen facilities.







Incheon City Council Seeks Citizen Reporters


The Incheon Metropolitan City Council is recruiting citizen reporters for its online publication "Incheon Council News" through May 21. 

Eligible applicants include Incheon residents or those based in the city for work or study. 

Selected reporters will be tasked with covering council activities and community news for a one-year term from July this year to June next year.






Incheon Election Commission Accepts Applications for Absentee and Shipboard Voting.


The Incheon Metropolitan Election Commission has opened a five-day registration period, from May 6 to 10, for absentee and shipboard voting. Eligible voters include those with significant physical disabilities or those aboard vessels overseas, who are unable to visit polling stations in person. Applications can be submitted by mail or fax from locations such as homes, hospitals, or ships.
