GREEN ENERTEC 2026 to Be Held at Songdo Convensia Next Month


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that GREEN ENERTEC 2026, a specialized exhibition for the environmental and energy industries, will be held at Songdo Convensia from August 5 to 7. 

Now in its fifth year, the event will operate as a B2G2B (Business to Government to Business) platform designed to foster collaboration among businesses and government agencies. 

The exhibition will showcase a wide range of technologies and products spanning key sectors of the environmental and energy industries, including clean and renewable energy, energy infrastructure, eco-friendly plastics, carbon neutrality, and climate technology. 

Organizers expect the event to provide a comprehensive look at current industry trends while highlighting future technological innovations shaping the sector.




Incheon City Council Elects New Leadership


The 10th Incheon City Council, where the Democratic Party holds an overwhelming majority, has elected a new leadership team and officially begun its new legislative term. 

According to the council, Democratic Party Councilmember Park Jong-hyuk was elected speaker for the first half of the 10th council during a plenary session of an extraordinary meeting held the previous day. 

Democratic Party Councilmember Lee Soon-hak was elected first vice speaker, while Yoon Jae-sang of the People Power Party was chosen as second vice speaker. 

In his acceptance speech, Park said the council would cooperate to ensure the swift implementation of key city policies for Incheon's development and residents' well-being while faithfully carrying out its core role of oversight and accountability.




Incheon to Inspect 1,807 Suspected Illegal Residential Hotels


Incheon Metropolitan City has launched an inspection of serviced residences amid concerns over their illegal use. 

The city said it will conduct inspections through the end of the year on 1,807 guest rooms identified as potentially being used illegally. 

These rooms account for 9.7 percent of the 18,598 serviced residence units built across Incheon. 

The inspection targets exclude facilities that have been legally converted into officetels or officially registered as lodging businesses.





Incheon Completes Nation's 1st Creative Design Social Experiment Training Program


The city of Incheon has announced the successful completion of its "Incheon-Style Social Experiment That Resonates With Everyone" training program, the first of its kind in the country. 

The program introduced a new administrative approach that applies social experimentation methodology to public administration, encouraging citizens and public officials to use design thinking to reinterpret urban challenges and develop innovative solutions. 

Launched for the first time by the city, the program aimed to strengthen public officials' expertise in public design and problem-solving while creating opportunities for citizens to participate in the Incheon Creative Design Social Experiment Project. 

Participants worked together to analyze complex administrative issues from multiple perspectives using real-world case studies of social experiments.




Incheon to Provide 525 Million Won in Aid for Exporters Affected by Middle East Conflict


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced a 525 million won support package to help local small and medium-sized exporters affected by the conflict in the Middle East minimize losses and secure stable overseas markets. 

The assistance consists of three programs: export voucher support, expanded export insurance and guarantee subsidies, and business matching events with overseas buyers. 

Through the Incheon Technopark, eligible companies can receive export vouchers worth up to 10 million won each, with a total budget of 400 million won. 

The city will also expand export insurance and guarantee support, providing up to 2 million won per company with a total budget of 50 million won to strengthen exporters' risk management.



Incheon Distributes Updated Administrative Maps Reflecting District Reorganization


Incheon Metropolitan City has distributed new roll-up administrative maps reflecting the city's reorganized administrative districts to frontline departments following the implementation of the new district system on July 1. 

The project was carried out in response to the first large-scale administrative boundary reorganization in decades and growing demand for up-to-date spatial information.
