Incheon to Crack Down on Harmful Environments for Minors


The Incheon Metropolitan Government's Special Judicial Police will conduct an intensive investigation into harmful environments for juveniles from July 6 to 16. 

The crackdown will focus on entertainment districts and areas surrounding private academies. 

As part of the summer vacation and holiday season crackdown, authorities will inspect businesses that prohibit the entry or employment of minors, monitor the illegal sale or provision of harmful substances for minors such as alcohol and tobacco, and check for violations of labeling requirements for harmful media. 

Investigators will also focus on karaoke establishments that do not have designated youth rooms to determine whether minors are being allowed to enter. 





Incheon Waterworks Promotes Advanced Water Purification Technology to Bangladesh Delegation


Incheon’s Susan Water Purification Plant has promoted the excellence of Incheon Haneulsu during a tour of advanced water treatment facilities for Bangladeshi government officials. 

The tour was organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) as part of a training program for Bangladeshi government officials, which included eight officials from the Bangladesh National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ) and two officials from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). 

During the tour, the Susan Water Purification Plant introduced the production process for Incheon Haneulsu, the characteristics of its treatment facilities, and technologies that could be applied to the design of water treatment plants in Bangladesh, showcasing Korea's advanced water purification expertise.





Incheon Strengthens Safety Inspections for Chicken Ahead of Peak Consumption Season


The Incheon Institute of Health and Environment will strengthen safety inspections on chicken to prepare for the surge in demand during the three hottest days of the lunar calendar, when chicken consumption typically surges. 

Incheon currently operates one poultry slaughterhouse in Seo-gu’s Gajwa-dong, where the institute dispatches veterinary inspectors to supervise and oversee the entire slaughtering process. 

The institute will conduct intensive microbiological testing for foodborne pathogens as well as residue testing for antibiotics and other substances using its Smart Combo inspection system to ensure that safe and hygienic poultry and livestock products are supplied to consumers.





Incheon Opens Enrollment for Farming and Rural Settlement Program for 2nd Half of 2026


The Incheon Agricultural Technology Center has announced that applications for the 17th Comprehensive Training Course for Relocating to Rural and Farming Communities for the 2nd half of 2026 will open on July 7. 

The program is designed for residents preparing to move to rural areas or those in the early stages of settling down, providing systematic training in basic farming techniques and agricultural knowledge to support successful transitions to rural life. 

Classes will run from August 3 through November 30 every Monday or Wednesday and consist of 20 sessions totaling 100 hours. 

The curriculum includes information on government policies for new farmers, basic farming skills, smart farming practice, business management and marketing, startup strategies, and hands-on training at local farms





Incheon to Open Yeongjong–Sindo Peace Road on July 14


Sindo, Sido, and Modo, which were previously only accessible by ferry, will be connected by land for the first time. 

The Yeongjong–Sindo Peace Road, the first phase of the West Sea Inter-Korean Peace Road project, will officially open to traffic at 2 p.m. on July 14. The project, completed on June 30, will enter service following a joint inspection by the city and related agencies. 

With the opening of the Sindo Peace Bridge, the islands of Sindo, Sido, and Modo, which were previously accessible only by ferry, will be connected to the mainland by road for the first time. 

Residents of the three islands will now be able to travel to and from the mainland by land at any time, 24 hours a day.





Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre Brings Performances to Elementary Schools


The Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre will present its original dance production "Kongjwi is Glad, Patjwi is Bad" at elementary schools across Incheon through July 20 as part of its flagship cultural welfare program, "Performances on the Move." 

The production reinterprets the classic Korean folktale with a modern sensibility while conveying timeless messages about kindness, diligence, and the courage to overcome adversity.
