No Heat Wave Damage Found at Nine Incheon Fishing Villages and Ports

No heat wave-related damages have been found so far at nine fishing villages and ports in Incheon’s Ganghwa-gun and Yeongjong-gu. 

Incheon Metropolitan City made the announcement on Aug. 12 after conducting on-site inspections in the area on Aug. 10 and 11, in response to summertime disasters. 

The sites inspected were Seondu, Hupo, Oepo, Janggot and Changhu ports in Ganghwa-gun, and Gwangmyeong, Daemuui, Deokgyo and Sammok ports in Ongjin-gun. 

The city checked the progress of fishing village and port regeneration projects and settlement infrastructure projects, while also inspecting safety management at construction sites and listening to workers' concerns. 

The city is also maintaining an emergency contact system in preparation for emergencies at aquaculture facilities across the city.

Incheon to Inspect 90 Registered Real Estate Development Firms

Incheon Metropolitan City will conduct inspections of 90 registered real estate development companies in the city through the end of September to check whether they are meeting registration requirements and complying with relevant regulations. 

The inspections are aimed at determining whether registered companies continue to meet legally mandated requirements and are properly fulfilling their obligations. 

The city will first conduct document-based inspections, followed by on-site inspections of companies suspected of failing to meet the requirements or requiring further verification. 

Real estate development businesses are required to register if they develop land of at least 5,000 square meters, or 10,000 square meters annually, for supply to others, or buildings with a total floor area of at least 3,000 square meters, or 5,000 square meters annually.

Incheon Opens Applications for Public Care Farming Program

The Incheon Agricultural Technology Center said applications for the 2nd half of 2026 will open for the “Public Education for Care Farming” program on Aug. 18. 

The program is designed to give residents an opportunity to experience the therapeutic benefits of agriculture. 

The program, the second of its kind this year, will offer hands-on experiences at local care farms to raise awareness of healing agriculture and promote its benefits. 

Participants will engage in a range of activities designed to help them experience the physical and emotional benefits of the program. 

The course will run for eight sessions from Sept. 7 to Nov. 2, with 40 participants to be selected. 

Priority registration will begin Aug. 18, followed by first-come, first-served applications through Aug. 24 via the city’s integrated reservation website.

Seohae-gu Pushes for K-Climate Tech Innovation Cluster

Incheon’s Seohae-gu will hold a meeting on Aug. 18 with Geomdan-gu to discuss establishing a cooperation framework for the K-Climate Tech Innovation Cluster and joint efforts to keep public institutions based in Incheon. 

The meeting will be held at the Seohae-gu District Office's councilors' meeting room to support the successful implementation of the “K-Climate Tech Innovation Cluster” project, a key pledge of the ninth-term Incheon mayor and Seohae-gu district head, as well as efforts to keep the Korea Environment Corporation's operations in Incheon. 

Following the meeting, Seohae-gu plans to establish close cooperation with Incheon Metropolitan City and continue joint efforts to develop the climate tech innovation cluster into a key hub for the nation's climate industry and keep the Korea Environment Corporation in Incheon.

Namdong-gu Provides Pregnancy and Maternal-Child Health Services

Incheon's Namdong-gu is providing folic acid and iron supplements to pregnant women whose pregnancies have been confirmed at medical institutions. 

The district will also provide information on the government’s childbirth support policies and maternal and child health programs. 

Pregnant women who have received confirmation of pregnancy at a medical institution can visit their local public health center with a pregnancy confirmation document and form of personal identification or also can apply online through the “Comfortable Pregnancy One-Stop Service” on the Government24 website, the Ai-Majung app or the e-Health portal.
