Hana Bank Signs Financial Support Agreements with Incheon
Hana Bank and Incheon Metropolitan City have signed three MOUs on financial support for livelihood stability for low-income residents, young people and small business owners; and to promote future strategic industries and innovative companies.
The agreements, signed on August 14, aim to ease the financial burden on Incheon residents struggling with high prices and interest rates.
Hana Bank will also make an additional special contribution to the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation, providing about 30 billion won in guaranteed loans to local small business owners.
The agreements will help expand financial support for companies in Incheon and accelerate their growth.
Incheon to Provide Supplies to Pet-Friendly Restaurants
Incheon Metropolitan City will distribute supplies needed to support restaurants registered to allow customers to bring their pets.
The initiative comes as part of efforts to promote a safe and healthy dining culture and help the new system take root.
The supplies are intended to make it easier for restaurant operators to manage their establishments while creating a safer and more convenient environment for customers, including pet owners.
Eligible businesses are restaurants currently registered in Incheon as pet-friendly establishments.
They can pick up the supplies from the public health & sanitation divisions of their respective district or county offices.
Incheon Holds Climate Action Campaign on Deokjeok Island
Incheon Metropolitan City held a climate action campaign on Deokjeok Island on August 15 in cooperation with the Incheon Council for Sustainable Development.
The event featured interactive programs, including a presentation on climate action, true-or-false quizzes and individual pledges to adopt climate-friendly practices.
The city linked the campaign to “Incheon 1.5°C Climate Action Day” week, highlighting the importance of achieving carbon neutrality through everyday actions.
Inha University Opens Applications for Women’s Leadership Academy
Inha University is recruiting participants for specialized programs of the 2026 Incheon Women’s Leadership Academy.
Starting August 29, the programs will focus on strengthening practical leadership skills, helping women communicate effectively within organizations and society and build trust among members.
The programs are open not only to women living in Incheon, but also to female students and graduates of schools in Incheon and women working for companies or organizations in the region.
Ganghwa Facilities Management Corp. Ranks No.1 for Customer Satisfaction
The Ganghwa Facilities Management Corporation says it has ranked first among local public enterprises in Incheon in the 2025 Local Public Enterprise Customer Satisfaction Survey.
According to the survey conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ganghwa Facilities Management Corporation ranked first by a significant margin for two years in a row.
The corporation attributed the result to its continued efforts to reflect customer feedback in facility operations, improve inconveniences, provide courteous service and create safe and comfortable facilities.
A corporation official said it will further strengthen regular service-quality inspections and systems for gathering customer feedback to provide trusted services and safe facilities for residents and visitors.
INU Emerges as Pan-Pacific Hub for Bioplastics Cooperation
The Anchor (RISE) Division at Incheon National University (INU) recently hosted the 2026 Pan-Pacific Bioplastics Association (PPBA) council meeting at the INU Innovation Center in Incheon.
Participants shared information on bioplastics policies and certification systems that vary from country to country and discussed ways to jointly respond to increasingly stringent global environmental regulations.
The participating institutions agreed to cooperate on sharing national policy and certification information, jointly responding to international environmental regulations, developing joint projects, expanding markets, promoting the bioplastics industry and strengthening information exchange among member institutions.
