Smart Crosswalks Will Be Installed at 28 Intersections in Yeongjong and Cheongna


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that smart crosswalks will be installed at 28 intersections in Yeongjong and Cheongna International Cities by July.

Thirteen locations are in Yeongjong and fifteen in Cheongna, with a total budget of 300 million won allocated for the project.

Smart crosswalks use advanced ICT technology to enhance pedestrian safety and will be installed mainly in areas with frequent accidents or high foot traffic.

Depending on the intersection, features such as ground-level pedestrian signals, voice guidance systems, automatic signal extensions, and countdown timers for red lights will be introduced.







Incheon Port Sets New Record by Exporting 160,000 Used Cars in Q1


In the first quarter of this year, Incheon Port, the nation's largest hub for used car exports, recorded the highest single-quarter export volume in its history.

According to the Incheon Port Authority (IPA), a total of 166,000 used vehicles were exported through Incheon Port in the first quarter of this year.

This represents a 52% increase from the previous record of 109,000 vehicles in the same period last year.

The IPA projects that total used car exports for the year will reach between 600,000 and 650,000 units—surpassing last year's all-time high of 500,000.







Incheon Education Office announces plans to build 22 new schools by 2028.


To address the issue of overcrowded classrooms, the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education has announced plans to build more than 20 new schools over the next three years.

By 2028, a total of 22 new schools will be established, including 8 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 5 high schools, 2 integrated elementary and middle schools, and 2 special schools.

The initiative comes amid growing concerns over deteriorating education quality due to increasing class sizes in the Incheon area.






Ganghwa-gun Launches Basic 'Do-It-Yourself Home Repair' Course


Ganghwa-gun is now accepting applications for its basic "DIY Home Repair" course.

The program covers both theoretical lessons and hands-on practice, covering everything from basic repairs to essential home maintenance skills.

The course will be held every Monday and Wednesday from May 12 to June 11, for a total of ten sessions. It will take place at the Namsan Village Residents’ Meeting Room inside the Ganghwa Happiness Center.

Any Ganghwa residents can apply, and 15 participants will be selected. If applications exceed this number, participants will be chosen by lottery.
