Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Announces It Will Establish an Integrated Platform for a Smart Zero-Energy City
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority has announced that it has secured 1.5 billion won in funding after being selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s 2025 project aimed at promoting future local energy ecosystems.
The goal of the project is to improve the local energy supply and demand system and to lay the groundwork for decentralized energy by identifying region-specific energy models and building a tailored system.
With 900 million won of national funding secured, the Authority plans to invest the full 1.5 billion won to establish an integrated energy management platform by the end of the year.

New Express Bus Route M6659 Will Offer the Fastest Commute from Geomdan to Yeouido
Incheon Metropolitan City has announced the launch of express bus route M6659, connecting Geomdan in Seo-gu to Yeouido in Seoul, beginning April 23.
This new route is designed to improve commuting convenience for Geomdan residents and to enhance public transport accessibility overall.
Initially, four buses will be deployed, and the number will increase to seven by May.
Incheon Metropolitan City Museum Launches Walking Tour on Appenzeller’s Historical Footsteps
The Incheon Metropolitan City Museum is resuming its popular walking tour program, Taba ktabak, Incheon, with this year’s theme titled “The Modern Path Opened by Appenzeller.”
This year marks the 140th anniversary of the arrival of Henry Appenzeller (1858–1902), the first Protestant missionary to Korea.
The tour, held on April 30 and May 17, will follow a 4-kilometer route tracing Appenzeller’s historical footsteps—from the pier where he first landed, to Korea’s first hotel where he stayed, through Naeri Church where he served, and finally to Yeonghwa Elementary School, one of the birthplaces of Korean elementary education, ending at Dowon Station.
