Incheon City Launches 'Tourism and MICE Forum' to Revitalize Regional Tourism


Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization held the inaugural Incheon Tourism and MICE Forum at the Overseas Koreans Welcome Center. 

The forum will share the current status of data management in the tourism and MICE industries and explore directions for the effective revitalization of local tourism.

At this year's inaugural event, data visualization and systematic management plans were introduced, focusing on tourism statistics collected by major public institutions, including the Korea Tourism Organization.






Incheon City Initiates Summer Legionellosis Prevention Measures in Public Facilities


The Incheon Metropolitan City Research Institute of Public Health and Environment will begin testing for Legionella bacteria in public facilities such as general hospitals, nursing homes, and large buildings starting in May, in preparation for the summer season.

Legionellosis, which presents with flu-like symptoms such as fever and muscle aches, requires particular caution during summer, as the bacteria thrive in warm and humid environments.

This year, the city plans to inspect 342 public facilities to ensure a safe and healthy summer. If Legionella bacteria are detected, the facilities will undergo cleaning and disinfection procedures. Testing will be repeated in cooperation with local infectious disease control officials until the bacteria are no longer detected.






Incheon Regional Health & Medical Center for Persons with Disabilities to Mark Day of Persons with Disabilities on April 24–25


The Incheon Regional Health & Medical Center for Persons with Disabilities will hold a celebration for the Day of Persons with Disabilities (April 20) on April 24 and 25, both inside and outside the hospital.

The event will feature a variety of programs, including a coffee truck promoting disability awareness, a bazaar selling products made by persons with disabilities, and health lectures for individuals with disabilities.

A representative from the center stated, “We hope to build a healthy and caring society where everyone can live together in harmony.”






Incheon Jung-gu and Incheon International Airport Corporation Sign MOU to Develop Prehistoric Site on Sammok-do


Jung-gu in Incheon has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Incheon International Airport Corporation to promote the development of the Sammok-do Prehistoric Site, a Neolithic village settlement.

The two parties agreed to create various on-site programs, including educational sessions led by cultural interpreters and hands-on excavation experiences to establish the site as a center for education and culture.

The Sammok-do Prehistoric Site is the largest Neolithic residential settlement discovered in the West Sea. In 2003, 17 pit dwellings were unearthed during an excavation of the Incheon International Airport construction project. The site was designated an Incheon City Monument in 2006.
