Incheon City to Improve Facilities at 156 Child Protection Zones with 7.2 Billion Investment

The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that it will carry out a comprehensive improvement project for child protection zones, investing 7.2 billion.


The city plans to repair old traffic safety facilities and speed bumps at 156 child protection zones across Incheon. It will also repaint crosswalks to improve visibility for drivers and install barriers to prevent jaywalking.







Incheon City Requests Change in Basic Plan for Geomdan Extension Line, Official Opening in June

Incheon City announced that it has requested a change in the basic plan for the construction of the Geomdan Extension Line of Incheon Subway Line 1 to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.


The Geomdan Extension Line adds three new stations between Gyeyang Station and Geomdan Lake Park Station. With the official opening scheduled for June, trial runs for service are currently underway.


The city expects that the project will shorten travel time from Geomdan New Town to Gyeyang Station from about 20 minutes to around 8 minutes, significantly improving transportation convenience.








Art Center Incheon to Launch Projects to Boost Local Culture and Arts

IFEZ is launching a project to activate the local cultural ecosystem and strengthen collaboration with regional artists, using the world-class Art Center Incheon as a hub.

Through a partial revision of the Art Center operation ordinance, IFEZ has outlined plans to enhance the expertise and role of the Art Center Incheon Operations Committee, promote performances by local art organizations, and nurture local talents. From May, it will develop detailed plans through meetings with the Operations Committee and local artists.

An IFEZ official stated, “We aim to redefine the role and status of Art Center Incheon, merging its capabilities with local strengths to lay the foundation for Incheon to rise as a leading cultural city.”






Korea Ocean Business Corporation to Build Digital Marine Exhibition Hall in Incheon

The Korea Ocean Business Corporation announced that it has signed an agreement with the National Incheon Marine Museum and ChildFund Korea’s Busan Office to establish a Digital Marine Exhibition Hall.


The new hall will feature interactive content using augmented reality and generative AI, offering visitors an immersive experience in marine, cultural, and historical topics.


The National Incheon Marine Museum will provide the exhibition space and will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and operation.
