I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the driver of Bus No. 22 who assisted me in early August 2026.
While traveling from Gyeonggi Province to Incheon Subway Line 2, I tapped my transportation card and heard a Korean announcement I did not understand. Noticing my confusion, the driver said, “Not enough, sir,” and I realized my balance was insufficient. I had only a credit card and no Korean cash, so I asked whether I could purchase a new card with U.S. dollars. He courteously explained that dollars could not be accepted, yet kindly provided me with a new transportation card at no cost. I am a U.S. service member stationed at Osan Air Base. I believe he recognized this from the U.S. Air Force and Space Force patches on my bag, as he respectfully addressed me as “sir.”
His professionalism, courtesy, and generosity left a lasting impression on me. Thank you, sir, for the kindness and respect you showed me that day.
