<Incheon Now> headed to a traditional marketplace in Incheon. It is called the Ongnyeon Market’  located in Songdo International City, where there are many foreign residents. The energy of spring filled the Ongnyeon Market. Various spring greens that give out fragrant scents of spring, such as wild chives, mugwort, water parsley, and shepherd's purse, were placed on the shelves for the season. Neither particulate matter nor COVID-19 could stop the freshness that only spring can give. We met early spring in this place which is full of affection.

Ongnyeon Market started to form in 1994. As apartment complexes were erected in Ongnyeon-dong, merchants came to sell agricultural and marine products one after another. In 2004, merchants received permission to establish a cooperative from the Incheon government. Today, it became the foundation of living for street vendors and neighbors alike. Stores lining up in the Ongnyeon Market is filled with spring scent. In particular, various spring greens that came out for the season attract shoppers' attention. On a warm spring day, stop by the traditional marketplace and get ingredients for seasonal dishes.

Wild chives, with a fragrant scent and crunchy texture, are commonly used as an ingredient to stimulate the appetite in spring. Minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, and potassium, evenly contained in wild chives, help to restore vitality.
