Introducing the Museum of Korea Emigration History

The Museum of Korea Emigration History was opened in 2003 to celebrate 100 years of our ancestor’s emigration to America and honor their life and the trail they blazed in the frontier for our descendants. It’s the first emigration history museum in Korea built by the efforts of Incheon citizens as well as Koreans living overseas. With Korea’s first emigration history museum opening in Incheon, a place where our first official migrants began their journey, we now have a foundation upon which to organize our emigration history which spans more than 100 years. By creating a network of Koreans both domestically and internationally, the Museum of Korea Emigration History will do its best to become a place to witness the joys and sorrows in the present and future for the 7 million Koreans living abroad, rather than a place that looks solely back into the past. The museum will also become a place where Koreans regardless of where they are can be proud and confident of being Korean.
