The respected 3 million citizens of Incheon,

and 7.5 million overseas Koreans around the world!

The long-held wish of Incheon citizens and overseas Koreans, 

that is, the establishment of the Overseas Koreans Agency in Incheon, has been confirmed.

We thank President Yoon Suk Yeol for his positive decision.

To Minister Park Jin of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and related officials,

and to the leaders of the People's Power Party and all politicians for their wise decisions, 

we extend our gratitude.

Above all, this was possible thanks to the dedication of the Incheon citizens who supported 

and participated in the signature campaigns of 

over 100 overseas Korean organizations backing Incheon's bid. 

We humbly thank our citizens and the leaders of global Korean communities.

The establishment of the Overseas Koreans Agency in Incheon

is a matter of great logic, importance, and emotion.

Nevertheless, there were challenges and oppositions during the process of securing the bid.

However, our passionate efforts for both Incheon's 

and the Republic of Korea's globalization have succeeded.

Citizens of Incheon and Koreans overseas!

Incheon is the starting point for connecting the Republic of Korea and the world, the future of our nation.

It is the optimal place for overseas Koreans to get the most convenient one-stop administrative services, 

a city prepared for immediate support.

With facilities such as Incheon International Airport, the Incheon Free Economic Zone, 

the largest and best in Korea, has not only the convenience, 

but also the environment to promote various businesses.

With the Overseas Koreans Agency, we embark on a journey to become a true 10 million population city,

forming relations with the 193 countries in which overseas Koreans reside,

and setting out to be a world-class city.

Firstly, we will create the driving force for “Incheon, a World-Class City.”

By fully mobilizing global networks and resources

to achieve Incheon City's administrative goal of “Incheon, 

a World-Class City Where Citizens are Happy,”

we will make it the stepping stone for Incheon’s leap and takeoff.

Next, we will make Incheon an “Overseas Korean Business Hub.”

By invigorating investments from overseas Koreans

and leading global business cooperation through the Korean business network, 

we will contribute to national economic development.

In addition, we will make it the focal point for creating value for overseas Koreans.

By establishing a system where 7.5 million overseas Koreans can receive the most convenient services

and by sharing the history and national contribution stories of overseas Koreans with domestic citizens,

we will foster emotional integration and create new values.

A world-class city where people and capital from around the world gather 

should embrace openness, inclusivity, and diversity.

We will connect with overseas Koreans active worldwide

and utilize Incheon’s global anchor facilities

to attract global citizens to Incheon through the Haebulyangsu project, 

which translates as “The sea accepts all water”.

In Incheon, the starting point of the Republic of Korea’s first modern emigration,

the Overseas Koreans Agency will be launched for the first time in the country on June 5th.

Thanks to overseas Koreans who have generously supported the nation in times of difficulty,

we have been able to grow into a top 10 global economic powerhouse.

Just as the Yoon Suk Yeol administration kept its promise with overseas Koreans,

Incheon City also promises you the best treatment.

On June 5th, we will be well-prepared for the new beginning of the Overseas Koreans Agency.
