At the event, Therme Group expressed its commitment to support Therme Group Korea in developing a world-class wellness resort, including a spa and water park, in Songdo Golden Harbor. They pledged to complete the site survey and submit a business plan by the end of this year with Therme's support at the global level. Therme Group showed its unwavering determination for the project by submitting an investment commitment letter, reassuring its plan to sign a land lease by Jun. 2025.

The Therme Group currently operates a total of four wellness spas and resorts in Romania and Germany, through both direct ownership and operational partnerships. In particular, Therme Bucharest in Romania, which opened in 2016, has become Europe's largest wellness and relaxation spot, attracting 1.5 million visitors annually.

The Therme Wellness Resort offers a nature-friendly leisure space with a domed indoor spa open 365 days a year, complemented by a botanical garden. The Therme Group's water purification, air purification, and ozone water treatment systems demonstrate the company's expertise in cutting-edge technology. With over 1,500 palm trees and 800,000 plants arranged in a botanical garden interior, it serves as an oasis of nature in the city center. The unique glass exterior is also expected to contribute to the enhancement of the urban landscape of Songdo Golden Harbor.

Mayor Yoo remarked, “After personally visiting Therme Romania, I could confirm that Incheon, as an international city, is an optimal location for such facilities. I hope that the Therme Group will show their dedication to the project to meet our efforts and expectations. Incheon will spare no effort in providing administrative support for the successful and timely completion of the project.”

Chairman Robert Hanea of Therme Group thanked Mayor Yoo for visiting Romania and inspecting the facilities. He also said, “Therme Group will do its utmost to ensure the success of the project and to create a special wellness system in Incheon.”

In Nov. 2022, the Incheon Metropolitan Government signed an MoU for cooperation at an investment attraction seminar held in Frankfurt, Germany. Mayor Yoo, Stelian Jacob (Senior VP of Therme Group), and Kim In-sook (COO of Therme Group Korea) were present at the event. In Dec. 2023, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a purchase agreement with the Incheon Port Authority to acquire two plots of land in Songdo Golden Harbor for the attraction of Therme.
