Guidelines on Mandatory Rules including Muzzles for Control Target Dogs

Below is a guideline of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ “mandatory regulation on wearing muzzles for control targeted pets(40cm)” and “mandatory regulation on wearing leash of below 2m”, which was part of the safety controls for pet dogs announced on January 18, 2018 for the pet owners and public citizens’ reference.
 
Contents Effective Period Note
Mandatory Regulation on Wearing Muzzles for Control Targeted Pets To be effective in 2021  
Mandatory Regulation on Wearing a Leash of below 2m To be effective in 2019  

What is control targeted dog, 
 Among the dogs attacked people or are taller than 40cm which have failed to pass the aggressiveness assessment
   Detailed operation for assessment evaluation will be prepared and initiated by MAFRA.
    ※ The effective period is subject to change upon administrative matters.
