There are many ways to spend a summer vacation. For anyone hoping to relax and enjoy memorable experiences without traveling far, a hotel staycation may be just the answer. Noriko Homma, a member of Incheon’s Global Supporters, visited INSPIRE Entertainment Resort for a special summer getaway.

On a hot summer day, Noriko headed to Yeongjongdo, where INSPIRE Entertainment Resort awaited. Rain or extreme heat makes little difference here, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy leisure activities in any weather.
강렬한 햇볕이 내리쬐는 여름, Noriko Homma씨가 영종도로 향했다. 그녀의 목적지는 인스파이어 엔터테인먼트 리조트다. 비가 내리거나 폭염이 이어져도 날씨에 구애받지 않고 휴식과 여가를 즐길 수 있는 여름 피서지이기 때문이다.
The moment she entered the lobby, its grand scale and vivid interior caught her eye. Her first stop was OASIS Gourmet Village, distinguished by a dramatic sculpture inspired by giant tree roots. Set amid this imaginative design are restaurants serving Korean dishes and street food, American-style burgers and pizza, Chinese cuisine, and more. Across from the dining area, a family entertainment zone offers small rides, VR games, claw machines, and karaoke for visitors of all ages.
리조트 로비에 들어서자 웅장한 규모와 화려한 인테리어가 시선을 사로잡았다. 그녀가 먼저 찾은 곳은 거대한 나무뿌리를 형상화한 조형물이 인상적인 ‘오아시스 고메 빌리지’다. 독특한 공간 디자인 사이로 다양한 음식점이 자리해 한식과 분식은 물론 아메리칸 스타일의 햄버거와 피자, 중식 등 여러 나라의 음식을 한자리에서 맛볼 수 있다. 반대편에는 가족 방문객을 위한 엔터테인먼트 공간이 마련됐다. 소형 놀이기구를 비롯해 VR게임과 인형 뽑기, 노래방 등이 있어, 아이부터 어른까지 함께 즐기기 좋다.
“I often hear people say they want to visit Incheon but worry that it is difficult to get around. Staying overnight makes exploring the city much easier. INSPIRE is especially appealing because comfortable accommodation, dining, shopping, and a wide variety of activities are all in one place. That is why I wanted to introduce it as a great summer getaway in Incheon.”
“주변에서 인천을 여행하고 싶지만 접근성이 부담스럽다는 이야기를 자주 들었습니다. 인천에 숙소를 정하고 여행한다면 훨씬 편리하게 도시를 둘러볼 수 있다고 생각해요. 특히 인스파이어 리조트는 숙박뿐 아니라 식사와 쇼핑, 다양한 체험을 한곳에서 즐길 수 있어 인천 여행의 여름 휴가지로 소개하고 싶었습니다.”
A STREET BROUGHT TO LIFE BY MEDIA ART
미디어 아트가 펼쳐진 거리
After exploring the resort, Noriko headed to the place she had been most eager to see: Aurora, its immersive digital entertainment street. The ceiling and walls—stretching about 150 m in length and rising about 26 m—are covered with enormous high-resolution LED screens. Enchanting forests, skies, and changing seasons blur the line between reality and fantasy.
리조트를 구석구석 둘러본 뒤 가장 기대하던 공간으로 향했다. 바로 디지털 엔터테인먼트 거리인 ‘오로라’다. 길이 약 150m, 높이 약 26m의 이르는 천장과 벽면은 초대형 고해상도 LED 스크린으로 가득 채워져 있다. 화면 속으로 펼쳐지는 신비로운 숨과 하늘, 계절의 변화는 방문객에게 현실과 환상의 경계를 넘나드는 듯한 몰입감을 선사한다.
“Traditional resorts in Japan are often designed to blend into nature and invite unhurried relaxation. INSPIRE, by contrast, offers vivid excitement that awakens all five senses within modern infrastructure. It was fascinating to compare two very different vacation cultures.”
“일본의 전통 휴양시설은 자연 속에 녹아들어 여유를 만끽할 수 있도록 설계된 경우가 많습니다. 반면 인스파이어 리조트는 현대적인 인프라 속에서 오감을 깨우는 화려한 즐거움이 가득했습니다. 서로 다른 매력의 휴양 문화를 비교해 보는 재미가 있었습니다.”
The resort is also home to INSPIRE Arena, a 15,000-seat performance venue with a state-of-the-art sound system. Its configurable 360-degree stage lets audiences experience performances vividly from every angle. Noriko said she hopes to return one day to see a favorite artist perform there.
이 외에도 공연장이 자리한다. 인스파이어 아레나는 1만 5,000석 규모의 객석과 최첨단 음향 시스템을 갖춘 전문 공연장이다. 특히 360도 가변형 무대가 설치되어 있어 어떤 각도에서든 생생하게 공연을 즐길 수 있다. 노리코씨는 언젠가 좋아하는 아티스트의 공연을 이곳에서 직접 관람하는 날을 기대한다고 말했다.
INCHEON: A CITY WORTH STAYING IN
머무르는 도시, 인천으로
As a member of Incheon’s Global Supporters, Noriko has explored many corners of the city. The more she discovers, the more she hopes its lesser-known attractions will receive the recognition they deserve. Although Incheon has outstanding museums, cultural venues, and beautiful natural scenery, many worthwhile places remain unfamiliar to visitors in Korea and abroad.
천 글로벌 홍보단으로 활동하며 인천 곳곳을 둘러보는 그녀. 인천의 매력을 더 깊게 알아갈수록 아쉬움도 커졌다고 이야기했다. 수준 높은 박물관과 복합문화시설, 아름다운 자연환경이 곳곳에 자리하고 있지만, 그 가치에 비해 국내외 방문객에게 충분히 알려지지 않은 장소가 여전히 많기 때문이다.
“I want to introduce more people to the many sides of Incheon that are still waiting to be discovered. I hope the city will be remembered not only as Korea’s gateway, but as a place filled with beautiful seas and sunsets, fresh seafood, and things to see and do—a city where people want to stay.”
“아직 널리 알려지지 않은 인천의 다채로운 매력을 더 많은 사람에게 전하고 싶습니다. 인천이 대한민국의 관문으로만 인식되는 데 그치지 않고 아름다운 바다와 석양, 신선한 해산물, 다양한 볼거리와 즐길 거리가 가득한 ‘머무르고 싶은 도시’로 기억되길 바랍니다.”
마지막으로 인스파이어 리조트와 함께 추천하고 싶은 인천의 여름 피서지를 묻자, 그녀는 강화도를 꼽았다.
Asked to recommend another Incheon destination for a summer getaway, she chose Ganghwado Island.
“Ganghwado offers green mountains, a refreshing sea, and wonderful local food. Its peaceful natural setting has a completely different appeal from modern, dazzling INSPIRE. I hope visitors to Incheon will experience both and discover two very different kinds of travel.”
