Starfield Cheongna Co., Ltd. hosts the “Starfield Cheongna Vision Proclamation Ceremony” at Incheon City Hall

Multi-entertainment venue sporting events available year-round and a cultural facility with massive shopping mall features

Goal is to complete construction by the end of 2027... Could become a new landmark of not only Incheon but Korea when complete

Starfield Cheongna is set to become Incheon’s latest landmark backed by a whole-new paradigm the world has yet to see. The new landmark will be a multi-stadium (dome/enclosed) and next-generation sports, culture, and entertainment venue, as well as a massive shopping mall complex.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on June 16 that Starfield Cheongna Co., Ltd. Hosed the “Starfield Cheongna Vision Proclamation Ceremony” at Incheon City Hall, which was attended by Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, IFEZ Authority Commissioner Kim Jinyong, Shinsegae Group Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin, and Shinsegae Property CEO Lim Young-rok.

Starfield Cheongna, which Starfield Cheongna Co., Ltd. has shared its vision for at the event, will be the world's first multi-entertainment venue for cultural performances and sports matches held year-round, all the while serving as a mega shopping mall. It will also feature specialized hotel rooms, an infinity pool, various food and beverage vendors, and a dining bar where patrons can enjoy watching baseball or engage in other forms of entertainment.

The state-of-the-art multi-stadium will include a 21,000-seat professional baseball stadium and other cultural facilities capable of hosting concerts not only by K-pop artists, but also by pop musicians from around the world. International e-sports tournaments and various exhibitions are also on the list of things visitors can enjoy at Starfield’s multi-plex in Cheongna.

Starfield Cheongna Co., Ltd. is hoping to eventually turn Starfield Cheongna, with its facilities for sports (baseball), K-pop, global pop artists, and shopping, beyond a landmark for the City of Incheon and into an icon for Seoul and for Korea.

Forecasts by the IFEZ Authority and Shinsegae say that Starfield Cheongna will change the paradigm of leisure and culture for Incheon citizens, and contribute greatly to revitalizing the local economy. With more than 25 million domestic and international travelers visiting Cheongna every year, the multi-plex could create a string of new jobs for locals. More specifically, analysis suggests Starfield Cheongna could add 30,000 new jobs, either directly or indirectly related to the project, with locals given priority over out-of-town applicants. Establishing Starfield Cheongna Co., Ltd. could also help increase local corporate tax revenue for the City.

Construction for Starfield Cheongna will get under way at 6-14, Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon (BL2 site, 165,000㎡) and the 9-story building (B3F~6F) will cover a total floor area of 500,000㎡. The target opening date has been set tentatively to sometime in late-2027.

Recently, the review of the detailed landscape plan for a design change made to the multi-stadium (dome stadium) was completed. Ground floor construction will begin in earnest once the ongoing underground excavation and civil engineering work and ground floor construction change permits are done.

Kim Jinyong, Commissioner of the EFEZ Authority, said in his welcoming address, “Starfield Cheongna is expected to establish itself as a landmark in Cheongna International City and Korea, and it will also contribute greatly to the development of the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).” He added, “We will do our best to offer the support Starfield needs in order to keep the project proceeding without any issues.”

Chung Yong-jin, Vice Chairman of the Shinsegae Group, said "Our aspirations are to completely change the paradigm of leisure and culture in Korea with Starfield Cheongna.” He added, “To that end, we’ll make sure Starfield Cheongna becomes the world's first and Korea’s best landmark facility.”

Mayor Jeong-bok Yoo said, “I hope that Incheon City, which aims to become a world-class city, will serve as a bridgehead for Korea’s future, and something that helps Shinsegae grow into a world-class company in Incheon through the Starfield Cheongna Project.” The Mayor added, “I hope that Incheon City and Shinsegae will work together as partners for local and regional development in the future.”
