Incheon to Host RoboCup 2026 with Participation from 45 Countries and Over 3,000 Participants

Incheon City has announced that it will host the 'RoboCup 2026,' the world's largest AI robot competition.

Incheon was recently selected as the host city for the 2026 event at the RoboCup Federation Board meeting held in the Netherlands.

The RoboCup has been held annually since the first tournament was held in Nagoya, Japan in 1997, and since 2002, it has grown in popularity with the addition of the Humanoid League that kicks the ball with two feet like humans.

The RoboCup 2026 will take place from June 30 to July 6 at Songdo Convensia, featuring leagues in RoboCupSoccer, RoboCup@Home, RoboCupIndustrial, RoboCupRescue, and RoboCupJunior. The event is expected to attract over 3,000 participants from 45 countries.




Incheon Songdo District 6 Lakeside: Development Reinitiated with Museum and Library

The last remaining residential land by the lakeside in Incheon Songdo International City is set to be developed into a landmark featuring a museum and a library.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) announced plans to partially revise the development plan for Block A12 in District 6 of Songdo. The new plan will reinitiate the business agreement with Songdo Museum Park Special Purpose Corporation (SPC).

The museum and library will be designed to harmonize with the nearby lakefront scenery, and there are plans to connect the underground parking facilities of both buildings.

IFEZ will soon hold an interim report meeting to discuss the revised development plan with the SPC. Following this, they are planning to start construction next year after changing the working design and signing the land purchase agreement to secure the museum site.




Incheon Cultural Foundation Announces Call for Artists for School Space Residency

Incheon City and the Incheon Arts Education Center of Incheon Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with Sinheung Middle School, is inviting applications for the 2024 School Cultural Arts Education Cooperation Project 'School Space Residency' program.

The 'School Space Residency' program aims to provide stable creative spaces within unused school areas, fostering interaction between artists and students. This initiative seeks to explore new possibilities in school cultural arts education through diverse artistic experiments.

Eligible applicants are artists in need of individual residency space who are willing to engage with Sinheung Middle School students. Artists from all genres are encouraged to apply.

2024 K-Darts Festival Attracts 3,100 Dart Players from 15 Countries


Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization have announced the successful hosting of the '2024 K-Darts Festival,' held over two days from July 20th (Saturday) to 21st (Sunday) at Songdo Convensia.


The '2024 K-Darts Festival' attracted over 350 international participants from 15 countries, including the United States, France, and Japan. A total of 3,100 dart players and spectators participated in the event over the two days, aiming their darts at the targets.


"The overseas participants of the K-Darts Festival were able to fully experience the charm of Incheon through sightseeing, shopping, and gourmet food," said an official from the Incheon Tourism Organization. "Our own analysis of the economic impact of the event showed that it was worth KRW 2.4 billion."
