17th Korea Open Junior & Senior Squash Championship to be Held
Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that the ‘17th Korea Open Junior & Senior Squash Championship’ will be held at the Yeolwoomul Squash Stadium from August 5th to August 8th.
The event will see participation from over 400 athletes representing 14 countries, including South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
South Korea’s youth national team members, which achieved runner-up positions in both the individual and team categories at the ‘2024 World Junior Squash Championships’ in Houston, USA, will be competing and are anticipated to deliver outstanding performances.
An Incheon City official commented, “We will cheer for the athletes to help them perform at their best during this championship.”
Incheon City to Begin Accepting Applications for ‘Child Dream Allowance’ on August 1
Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that applications for the ‘Child Dream Allowance,’ part of the 1 Billion Plus Child Dream Project, will open on August 1.
The allowance provides 150,000 one per month to children born in 2016, starting from the age of 8 in 2024 until they turn 18.
Eligible children born in 2016 can apply in the month of their birthday. To qualify, both the child and their parents must be registered residents of Incheon. Applications should be submitted online through the Government 24 portal.

Incheon Metropolitan City has announced plans to expand the installation of yellow traffic lights and ground-level pedestrian signals around school zones. This initiative is in collaboration with districts, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, and the Office of Education.
Since the implementation of the ‘Min-sik Law’ in 2020, Incheon City has installed traffic lights at 351 locations in school zones.
This year, with a total project cost of 3.5 billion one, the city will install 23 yellow traffic lights and 60 ground-level pedestrian signals.
An official from Incheon City said, “We will continue to do our best to create a safe walking environment where children and parents can feel secure on their way to and from school.”
