Mayor Yoo JeongBok of Incheon City Inspects the Construction Site of the 3rd Landing Bridge
Mayor Yoo JeongBok of Incheon City visited the construction site of the 3rd Landing Bridge on the 13th to review ongoing issues related to the project.
This visit was made to address concerns about the preparation for the 3rd Landing Bridge's scheduled opening in December 2025, as well as to find solutions for the reduction of tourism development plans on the Yeongjong side.
The 3rd Landing Bridge, which will connect Yeongjong and Cheongna, is expected to significantly improve access to Incheon International Airport and enhance connectivity to the western part of the Seoul metropolitan area once it opens.
Mayor Yoo JeongBok emphasized the importance of ensuring that the bridge opens on schedule in December 2025 and urged that every effort be made to keep the construction on track. He also instructed officials to actively consider alternative plans to ensure the development of tourism facilities that local residents desire.
Incheon Supplies Tap Water to All Areas of Bukdo-myeon, Ongjin-gun
The Waterworks Headquarters Incheon Metropolitan City held a ceremony on the 13th at the Jangbong Branch in Bukdo-myeon, Ongjin-gun, to mark the first supply of Incheon Haneulsu (tap water) to Jangbongdo. Around 100 residents and local officials attended the event.
Due to the unique challenges of island living, Bukdo-myeon, including Jangbongdo, had not been connected to the city’s water supply. Residents had relied on village water systems powered by underground water sources to meet their drinking water needs.
Since 2018, the Waterworks Headquarters Incheon has been working on a project to build a local water distribution network in the area, investing 47.1 billion KRW. By next year, the plan is to lay approximately 40 kilometers of water pipes across four islands in Bukdo-myeon—Sindo, Sido, Modo, and Jangbongdo—providing clean tap water to 1,194 households.
