Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Hosts Opening Ceremony for Landmark Road in Songdo Sectors 6 and 8
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held an opening ceremony for the Landmark Road yesterday (19th) in the area around 401 Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu.
The Landmark Road connecting the Aam Logistics Complex and the International Business District was part of the final stage (Phase 3) of the Songdo Sectors 6 and 8 infrastructure construction project. It commenced in July 2020 and was completed in October 2024 after 4 years and 3 months.
With the construction of Waterfront Phases 1-2, which began in February of this year, traffic from detours is expected to be effectively dispersed. Additionally, it is anticipated that the network connections with surrounding zones will significantly improve the living conditions for residents.
Pet Boom Era: Dedicated “Pet Lounge” Opens at Incheon Airport
As the number of pets continues to grow, accompanied by an increase in pet owners, a dedicated lounge for pets has been established at Incheon International Airport.
Incheon International Airport Corporation has opened a “Pet Lounge” for passengers travelling with dogs at the Transportation Center of Terminal 1.
Located on the west side of the B1 floor of the Terminal 1 Transportation Center, the Pet Lounge is designed as a space where passengers and their dogs can relax together, featuring amenities such as rest chairs and a photo zone.
An official from Incheon Airport stated that they will continue to expand tailored services that reflect the diverse needs of passengers to enhance convenience.
“Incheon’s Old Johung Store”, a Landmark of Baedari’s Heritage, Designated as National Registerd Cultural Property
The National Heritage Administration has announced that the “Old Johung Store” building in Incheon, constructed in 1955, has been officially registered as a National Cultural Heritage Property.
The two-story commercial building exemplifies the architectural characteristics of the 1950s, bridging the post-liberation era and modern times. The building’s façade highlights the dual functionality of a “sangga-jutaek” (commercial-residential structure), combining spaces for both business and living.
The National Heritage Administration stated that as a landmark representing the Baedari area, which fully preserves the history of modern Incheon, it holds significant value for preservation and utilization as a site deeply intertwined with the lives and history of local residents.
Incheon Art Show to Be Held in Songdo from November 21st to 24th
The “Incheon Art Show 2024,” where you can both view and purchase artworks by famous local and international artists, will held from the 21st to the 24th of November at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.
The exhibition, organized by the Incheon Art Show Organizing Committee, will feature over 600 artworks by more than 1300 artists, including world-renowned masters such as David Hockney and Yayoi Kusama, as well as famous local artists.
This year, the Incheon Art Show will offer a unique experience by incorporating LED large-scale media art displays in connection with a yacht exhibition. This fusion of visual arts and leisure culture is expected to provide a fresh and exciting visual experience, reflecting the maritime city characteristics of Incheon.
