Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Successfully Hosts the 2024 IGC Educational-Industrial Cooperation Connect Week
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZA) held the "2024 IGC Educational-Industrial Cooperation Connect Week" on December 10-11 at the Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel and other venues.
The event provided a platform to share the achievements of educational-industrial cooperation and discuss the future of global collaboration. Around 130 participants, including IGC-affiliated universities and research institutes, related companies, and domestic universities, attended to engage in discussions and exchanges.
IFEZA Commissioner Yoon Won-seok stated, "This event is a meaningful opportunity to assess the current state of educational-industrial cooperation and set a milestone for global collaboration. Moving forward, IGC will continue to strengthen the connections between industry and academia to drive innovative outcomes."
Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Hosts the 2024 IFEZ Landscape Award Ceremony
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZA) held the "2024 IFEZ Landscape Award Ceremony" today (December 12) at the G-Tower in Songdo International City.
Now in its second year, the Landscape Award recognizes outstanding architectural designs from the building plans submitted to the IFEZ Landscape Committee, encouraging efforts and achievements that contribute to shaping the landscape of the Incheon Free Economic Zone.
The award-winning projects were selected from a total of 71 proposals that passed landscape reviews between November of last year and October of this year. The evaluation was based on criteria such as consistency with the landscape plan, creativity, uniqueness, and sustainability. After two rounds of assessments, one Grand Prize and six Excellence Awards were selected. The Grand Prize was awarded to the Cheongna Medical Complex Town (Seoul Asan Cheongna Hospital).
Blockchain Innovation Technology Center Opens in Songdo
A support center for fostering blockchain companies has opened in Songdo International City, Incheon.
On December 11, the Incheon City held the opening ceremony of the Blockchain Innovation Technology Center at the Michuhol Tower in Songdo.
The center was established with a government investment of 1.8 billion KRW, selected through a public project by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency. It is the third such center in South Korea, following those in Busan in 2022 and Daegu last year.
The center occupies the entire 14th floor and part of the 16th floor of Michuhol Tower. It is equipped with technology development and testing spaces, offices for blockchain companies (10 offices), shared office spaces for startup companies (16 seats), a multipurpose room, meeting rooms, a public experience space, and rest areas.
Incheon Yeonsu-gu Promotes Friendship Symbol Between Incheon and Nanjing, China
A project to create a friendship symbol between cities in South Korea and China in Qinhuai District, Nanjing, commemorating the Baekje ambassadors who traveled to China during the 4th to 6th centuries, is actively being pursued by local government authorities.
In January next year, Incheon Yeonsu-gu plans to visit Qinhuai District to discuss strengthening exchanges, including the creation of the friendship symbol.
An official from Yeonsu-gu stated, "We plan to designate a location for the symbol based on a storytelling approach, aiming to reconnect the friendship that was once established between Baekje and the Southern Dynasties of China over 1,400 years ago."
