Incheon Free Economic Zone to Participate in CES 2025 for Second Consecutive Year
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) will promote Incheon on the global stage by participating in CES (Consumer Electronics Show), the world’s largest IT exhibition, for the second consecutive year.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that it will operate the “INCHEON-IFEZ Pavilion” at CES 2025, which will take place in Las Vegas, USA from January 7th to 10th 2025.
In preparation, IFEZ has supported startups through initiatives such as pre-business matching, global media meetups, training for international exhibitions and assistance for CES Innovation Awards. As a result, 12 companies received 13 innovation awards, marking the highest number of awards achieved to date.
Yoon Won-seok, Commissioner of IFEZ, stated that they will do their best to establish IFEZ as a global innovation city.
Incheon Education Office Sets a Plan for Next Year’s Policy: Focus on Strengthening On-Site Support
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it has established next year’s education policy plan with a focus on strengthening support for schools.
To reduce the administrative burden on schools and provide efficient academic and administrative support, the office plans to create a “Teacher Work Support Division” within its School Support Group.
In addition, a task force for administrative support will be operated to promptly address issues that are difficult for schools to resolve on their own, and a school support service system will be established.
Do Seong-hoon, Superintendent of Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, stated that they will listen more closely to voices directly from the schools.
“Incheon Love Campaign” Launched to Establish Incheon’s Identity
Incheon has taken its first step in launching the “Incheon Love Campaign” to establish the city’s identity and foster citizens’ pride and sense of ownership.
Yesterday (17th), the city held the first meeting of the “Incheon Love Campaign Task Force” composed of related experts in the Incheon City Council’s general meeting room, announcing that discussions have begun in earnest to shed new light on Incheon’s potential.
The advisory task force (TF) consists of 13 experts from various fields, including history, culture, arts, urban development, and the economy. The team will work to identify Incheon’s strengths and attractions while exploring ways to promote a positive regional image.
In particular, the goal is to systematically establish Incheon’s identity based on its world-class infrastructure and urban assets and to share this with its citizens.
Incheon Leads the Nation in Fire Insurance Coverage for Traditional Markets
Incheon’s traditional markets have achieved the highest fire insurance enrollment rate in the nation.
As of the end of last month, Incheon announced that the fire insurance enrollment rate for traditional markets reached 67.5%, ranking first nationwide.
This rate is more than 30% higher than the national average of 34.3% for traditional markets and represents a 38% increase compared to Incheon’s enrollment rate of 29.5% at the end of last year.
Traditional market fire insurance is a policy provided by the Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) for markets vulnerable to fire, with coverage ranging from a minimum of 1 million won to a maximum of 60 million won.
