Incheon Free Economic Zone Surpasses $600 Million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for 2024
The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ)’s foreign direct investment (FDI) exceeded $600 million in 2024, achieving 140% of the previous year's investment performance.
IFEZ announced that despite global economic uncertainties and intense investment competition, this year's foreign direct investment surpassed the target amount of $600 million, reaching a final total of $605.5 million.
IFEZ raised its FDI declaration target from $400 million to $600 million this year, and proved the strength of the Incheon Free Economic Zone by exceeding this goal through cross-border investment attraction activities.
Incheon City Concludes 2024 Urban Garden Project
Incheon City announced that the 'E-eum Garden' community project and 'Sea Breeze Garden' on the rooftop of Namchon Agricultural Market, both operating for four years since 2021, have been playing crucial roles in realizing sustainable urban agriculture.
The E-eum Garden, a 14,750㎡ space located in Songdo, Yeonsu-gu, has established itself as a place where citizens form communities and contribute to local society.
This year, participants contributed 1,973 hours of volunteer work and donated 1,400kg of vegetables to the Kkotdongne Community Center over 20 occasions.
Citizens who participated in the garden projects expressed that they found happiness in gardening activities while meeting and interacting with good people, and they hope to continue participating in the future.
M6462 Express Bus Route Opens on December 28th
Incheon Metropolitan City announced the launch of express bus route M6462 (Yeongjong-Gangnam) connecting Yeongjong International City in Jung-gu with Seoul's Gangnam district on December 28th.
The city plans to sequentially open a total of four new routes by the first half of 2025.
The launch of these new routes aims to improve Seoul commuting convenience for express bus users and strengthen transportation welfare. The M6462 route connecting Yeongjong International City to Gangnam holds particular significance as it fulfills a long-standing request from Yeongjong International City residents since 2019.
Incheon City, First in Nation to Provide Legal and Management Consulting for Franchise Headquarters
Incheon Metropolitan City announced it conducted 'On-site Franchise Management and Legal Consulting' for five franchise headquarters that were either small-scale or experiencing financial difficulties but showed growth potential, from September 4th to December 15th.
The distinctive feature of this consulting program was its departure from the traditional legal diagnosis-centered approach, instead offering comprehensive management and legal diagnostics with practical improvement solutions through joint visits by city officials and expert groups.
Incheon City has implemented various franchise policies over the past six years and, based on its expertise that has been selected as a benchmarking case by various institutions, plans to further strengthen its efforts in nurturing local franchises and creating a fair trade environment.
