Incheon Publishes 15th Edition of City History, A Hub of Maritime Cultural Exchange
The city of Incheon has announced the release of its 15th city history volume, A Hub of Maritime Cultural Exchange, which highlights Incheon’s role as a key maritime hub encompassing the coastal areas of Gyeonggi Bay, its islands, and the Yellow Sea.
As Korea’s representative maritime city, Incheon is home to 168 islands, including the Five West Sea Islands, and ecologically rich tidal flats, earning its reputation as a treasure trove of marine biodiversity.
This edition carries significant value by documenting Incheon’s geopolitical, historical, and cultural identity while presenting its vision as a future-oriented maritime city. Experts from diverse fields, such as natural sciences, archaeology, history, folklore, and literature, collaborated to achieve this interdisciplinary milestone.
Incheon Doubles Weekly Legal Counseling Sessions to Meet Demand
The city of Incheon will expand its citizen legal counseling service from once to twice weekly starting in 2025, adding Thursdays to the current Tuesday schedule.
Operating since August 2008, the Citizens Counseling Center provides free consultations on legal and tax issues to reduce residents’ financial burdens and enhance public service.
This expansion reflects the city’s response to increasing demand and focuses on strengthening legal support for its citizens.
Incheon Produces Korea’s First Documentary on Water System Conversion
Incheon Waterworks Headquarters has completed the nation’s first documentary, Three Days of Water System Conversion: The People Who Change the Flow, capturing a behind-the-scenes look at its water system conversion process.
The 10-minute documentary, to be showcased at a waterworks photo exhibition in City Hall starting January 8 and shared via the city’s official social media channels, documents the 2024 field operations of the conversion project.
It will also serve as an educational resource to enhance professional knowledge in the waterworks field and will be accessible nationwide through online platforms.
Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2025 New Year’s Concert
The Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra, a source of pride for Incheon citizens, will kick off 2025 with its New Year’s Concert on Friday, January 18, at 7:30 PM at the Art Center Incheon Concert Hall.
The orchestra has prepared this performance with the hope that 2025 brings joy and peace, inviting citizens to start the year with beautiful music and renewed determination.
