Incheon, the City Where Children Thrive, Continues Moving Forward in the New Year 


Incheon has pledged to actively pursue various policies and initiatives in 2025 to realize the vision of becoming a “city where children are happy”, meeting the expectations of its citizens. 

Under the goal of creating a “child-friendly city”, Incheon plans to continue comprehensive efforts such as providing support for pregnancy and childbirth, strengthening childcare services, and expanding policies to boost birth rates. 

As of October 2024, the number of births in Incheon reached 12,472, a 10.2% increase compared to the same period last year, marking the highest growth nationwide. Incheon’s newborns accounted for 31% of the total increase in births across the country. 

The city stated that as the issue of low birthrates is not limited to specific groups of citizens, they will focus on developing field-oriented low birth rate policies by thoroughly examining the diverse lives of all citizens.

Incheon Leads the Nation in Hydrogen Bus Deployment, Taking the Lead in Climate Crisis Response 


Incheon announced that it will officially launch the 2025 Hydrogen Vehicle Private Distribution Program starting January 22nd. 

As a leading city in the hydrogen industry, Incheon has been systematically and proactively distributing hydrogen vehicles based on the “Incheon Hydrogen Ecosystem Construction Strategy,” with a focus on hydrogen commercial vehicles known for their excellent air quality improvement effects. Incheon has achieved the highest number of hydrogen buses distributed in the country, with 480 buses.

In this announcement, the city plans to support 500 hydrogen passenger cars and 180 hydrogen buses, considering the demand for hydrogen vehicles. In addition to the announced amount, an additional announcement will be made in the second half of the year, allowing for flexible operation of the subsidy program. 





Incheon Activates Emergency Medical Response System for Lunar New Year to Minimize Medical Service Gaps 


Incheon has designated the two weeks before and after the Lunar New Year holiday as the “Lunar New Year Emergency Response Period” and will operate an emergency medical and urgent care system to ensure that citizens can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday. 

During this period, the city plans to mobilize a 44-member “Emergency Medical Management Task Force” to systematically respond to emergencies by managing medical situations and inspecting the emergency medical system. 

Information on hospitals and pharmacies open during the holiday period can be accessed through the “Emergency Medical Portal E-gen”, the Incheon City Hall website, and the websites of district health centers. Additionally, citizens can receive guidance over the phone by contacting the 129 Health and Welfare Call Center, the 120 Michuhol Call Center, or the 119 Emergency Situation Management Center.
