Incheon City Strengthens Sanitary Oversight of Food Delivery Restaurants

In response to the recent surge in demand for food delivery, Incheon Metropolitan City has announced an intensive sanitation inspection initiative targeting food delivery restaurants. The aim is to ensure a safer and more hygienic dining environment for citizens and to proactively prevent food safety incidents, including food poisoning.

The inspection campaign will run from April to December and will cover more than 9,100 establishments. The focus will be on restaurants registered on food delivery platforms that have not been inspected in 2024 and those with a history of violating the Food Sanitation Act.

Businesses found in violation of the Act will face administrative actions in accordance with relevant laws. In addition, all violators will be subject to a follow-up inspection within six months to verify that necessary improvements have been made.

Last year, Incheon became the first city in the country to introduce the “Family Therapy Support” program, which targets high-risk and repeat domestic violence households. The program includes customized family counseling, pre- and post-psychological assessments, and one-day therapy camps.
