Incheon City Collects 111 Million Won in Overdue Water Bills


Incheon City's Waterworks Division announced that it has successfully collected the full amount of 111.58 million won (approximately $84,000) in overdue water bills from an apartment complex in Jung-gu district.

This collected amount represents the highest single-account delinquency in the entire Waterworks Division's history. The achievement is being credited to the sustained field activities and customized collection strategies of a special delinquency collection task force formed jointly by the main division and the Central Waterworks Office.

The Waterworks Division confirmed that the apartment management association was separately collecting maintenance fees from land exchange participants, and incorporated this information into their collection strategy. Through a process of encouraging payment while explaining delinquency disposal policies and persuasion, they successfully collected the entire outstanding amount.

The city recently held a "Committee for Creating Healthy Tap Water" meeting on-site at Seo-eo Island in Seo-gu, where officials reviewed the operational status of water supply facilities on islands within the jurisdiction and discussed future development directions.

This meeting was conducted with the purpose of directly confirming the actual conditions of tap water supply and establishing field-centered improvement measures.

According to the city, ahead of the Incheon Landing Operation commemoration week in September, they have begun the "Veterans Archive Construction Project" and preparing "Memorial Hall Renewal Operation Plans."

The purpose is to transform the existing Incheon Landing Operation Memorial Hall in Songdo into a citizen-friendly space by re-examining its historical value through veterans' oral records and improving the outdated exhibition environment.
