IFEZ offers CPR and first aid training for foreign residents
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority successfully held a CPR and first aid training session yesterday at the IFEZ Global Center, for foreign residents and workers living and working in the Incheon Free Economic Zone.
This was the first program of its kind, designed to help build a safer living environment for the city’s international community.
Moving forward, IFEZ plans to regularly offer safety education programs, including first aid training, to ensure a more secure and convenient daily life for foreign residents.
Hands-on training for global bio workforce hub kicks off in Incheon
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority has announced its support for the “2025 Basic Training in Vaccine and Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Processes,” held in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The two-week training program began on June 16 at Seoul National University’s Siheung Campus.
This initiative is part of the Global Training Hub for Biomanufacturing (GTH-B) project, which aims to reduce global vaccine inequality and strengthen production capabilities in low- and middle-income countries.
Participants will engage in interactive learning activities, lectures, and discussions led by top domestic and international experts. They will also gain hands-on experience through site visits to cutting-edge biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in Korea.
Young Korean diaspora from around the world visit their homeland for cultural and historical learning
The Overseas Koreans Agency has launched the 2025 Youth Invitation Program, welcoming more than 2,600 young members of the Korean diaspora from over 70 countries to Korea for a cultural and historical immersion experience.
Organized by the Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center, the program runs through August 17 across nine sessions, divided into youth and young adult groups.
Marking the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation, this year’s program is built around three core themes:
Koreanity, which fosters cultural pride and identity;
Globality, which promotes connections and shared growth between the diaspora and Korea;
and Connectivity, which seeks to strengthen global Korean networks and contribute to global prosperity.
Through these themes, the program aims to help participants grow into globally minded Korean leaders.
Incheon teams up with Ghent University for joint research on tidal flats and marine biotechnology
The Incheon Marine Fisheries Resources Research Institute signed an MOU yesterday with the Ghent University Global Campus in Belgium for joint research on the West Sea tidal flats and marine bio-convergence technologies.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will conduct research on the use and conservation of tidal flats, foster marine-based new industries, and explore marine carbon neutrality solutions using microalgae.
The city cited recent research showing that Incheon’s tidal flats can absorb up to 20% of the region’s annual greenhouse gas emissions, expressing hopes that the joint research will meaningfully contribute to carbon neutrality and climate action.
Incheon highlights nine unique spots to inspire local travel
The Incheon Metropolitan CIty and the Incheon Tourism Organization have introduced nine must-see destinations aimed at creating refreshing travel experiences within the city.
The newly selected sites were chosen to rediscover the charm of Incheon through light, enjoyable trips.
The campaign features accessible, hands-on activities that invite visitors to explore, enjoy, and connect with the local culture.
City officials say they will continue to promote engaging content that makes Incheon a destination where people want to stay longer and share memorable moments.
